  1. Nicely done, never seen that color scheme before.

  3. Nice progress
  4. Huge thumbs up, off the chain.
  5. Perfect build John, color choice and finish is superb
  6. Realistic build of a modern day drag car, awesome and its a Ford, BONUS
  7. Tidy build, great model, well done.
  8. Thanks guys, the paint scheme is not quite there yet. This week I'm adding white and gold panels to accent the metal-flake ones. Part of this will provide the white background I require for the cowl artwork. This way I can print the final artwork on clear decal film and the white areas will show through giving the desired effect. Even though 1/16 scale models are fairly generous in size there is actually not much space to fit the artwork on the cowl, by the time you size it down some of the detail is hard to see. Hoping that I can incorporate both the fuel tank and the crate. All will be revealed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Thanks guys for the comments. Brad I'll print this onto Testors decal paper using an inkjet, I find that works best for me.

    Surfite

This is off the richter scale for coolness, awesome build
  11. Body work progress. Sanded off my previous disaster and re-applied silver base, I then free handed in Pontiac Engine Blue in the paneled sections and finally masked them off and sprayed Aqua marine metal flake into the paneled areas. I then ghosted black along some of the leading edges before applying 10 coats of candy blue Next step is to add white and gold edging to the panel work and then the cowl art. I've decided to call this littler digger the Acme Special so I've been working on some suitable artwork for the cowl. This is not the final but getting close, let me know what you think. The helmet is photo-shopped in from the old Bell Helmets logo, the one with the horse head. Also been working on the headers.
  12. Hi everyone, sorry for the delay in progress updates. Wife's tupperware party went well, think i put a kilo on by raiding the sweets tray on a regular basis . Spent most of my time of late doing all the fiddly bits on the engine (this post) and finally sorting out the paint work (second post) anyway here we go; Oh yeah, managed to get the front axle mounted as well
  13. Progress is perfect, love this build.
  14. Man, this model is packed with detail, it will be sort of a shame to cover it up with body panels.
  15. Awesome to see another of your amazing builds Charlie. Can't wait to see it colored in
  16. Now that's much better looking. Never was a fan of the stretchers but this one does push my buttons. Well done
  17. BIG TICK of approval, both are sweet builds, the Black Magic car is my fav but.
  18. Now that's a cool twist on that theme, sweet build
  19. Driveshaft came out amazing Joe, agree the weld decals just add another touch of realism to an accurate component on this cool build.
  20. Hi Chris, thanks for checking in mate. The little collar is actually a small chrome metal tube used for jewellery. I buy the odd bag or two at the $2 buck shop they come in chrome and gold, small diameter (about 1mm) and medium (about 1.5mm) come in very handy for these sorts of applications and to simulate some of the metal collars on the old style fuel lines. If you get stuck trying to find some PM me and I'll get some over to you..
  21. Thanks for the comments guys. Will posting some more progress shots after the weekend build session. Locking myself in the man-cave as the wife is having a tupperware party UGHHH Probably only come out to raid the snacks.
