Nice work. Looks like you've got a handle on your Airbrush. I've Owned two Airbrushes. Bought them new. Followed the Directions to the Letter. They didn't work. I've Destroyed two Airbrushes. Bought them new. No Directions for their Destruction. I Improvised. There wasn't anything salvageable. Speed, Gravity and Crash Landing onto Cement from three Stories up will put an end to pretty much anything. I'll never buy another. One was a Badger, the other... I don't remember and at this point... it doesn't matter.

I built one as a Wagon. I didn't care for the Clear Rear Roof section. I fixed that and how about that Half Baked idea of a Luggage Rack. I still need help with the panel lines on the 57 210.

Missing Link has no Lincoln. I do have their 1971 Galaxie 500 4 Door. That'll be Gator McKlusky's 1971 FORD CUSTOM 500 from White Lightning. One of the movies that made 4 Door cars cool... to me anyway. (http://worldflix.blogspot.com/2012/08/white-lightning.html). My brother's 210 really tipped the scale. No Chrome Plated Mag-Wheels, no Wheel Covers, no Hood Scoop, no Custom Suspensions. Just and ordinary looking car. Something you wouldn't look twice at. Like the 350 HP 66 LTD 4 Door I used to drive 35 years ago. I could never get the Choke to work properly. I worked 2nd Shift so, on really cold nights I would have to Break-Race the engine while waiting for the Security Guard directing traffic to wave me through. I could see the fear on his face while my back tires were spinning, squealing and smoking. I still think it's funny. Funny thing I just remembered... the Company closed that Parking Lot that year. Thanks for your help so far, it's appreciated. I know this is a 2 Door and the front Bumper is black but, tell me she don't look SINISTER. All she needs is a set of Cherry Bomb Glasspacks. If you got it, flaunt it.

If you did cut the roof off, I'm interested in taking it (the roof) off your hands.

This Forum wasn't easy to find. Here's the Inspiration. (http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2013/10/20/hemmings-find-of-the-day-1967-lincoln-continental-2/) BLACK with BLACK 1967 Lincoln Continental 4 Door with the Vinyl removed from the Roof. A 1953 Nash (?) Flying Lady Hood Ornament was added. Hood Ornament? We don't need no Stinking Hood Ornament. If I could drive, I'd buy this 1967. The only thing I would change is... the Exhaust. For some reason... they're never loud enough. A set of Cherry Bomb Glasspacks would cure that. Here's the Victim. I'm not going to convert this into a 67. I just need a good Hardtop to fit this Body. I believe I have similar set of wheels or I can use Baby Moons or Dog Dish Wheel Covers. I've done one as a Wagon and another one (Pretty much) Factory Stock. It's time for something TWISTED. The next Contestant is a Resin Realm 1957 Chevy 210 4 door. Okay-Okay... I'll admit it, I like 4 door cars and Wagons. I haven't any pictures of the one my older brother built and drove waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the early 70's. It was all Black with Black Interior. It had a built 327c.i.d. and I can't remember if it was a Manual 3 or 4 speed trans.. I helped him change it once. It was one of those cars that you heard loooooong before you caught sight of it. Here's my dilemma, I got sick and lost some vision. I can't Re-scribe the Panel lines in the Resin Body. If there's anyone in my area of the Frozen State of Connecticut that wants an Unbuilt AMT 57 Chevy Kit: 638 in exchange for Re-scribing the Resin Body's Panel Lines, let me know. (The Unbuilt AMT 57 Chevy Kit: 638) I bought this AMT Kit: 638 because I couldn't remember which kit I needed. (The AMT 1957 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop needed and bought) As it turned out I needed the older AMT 1957 Chevy Bel Air Hardtop. I'll always remember it as the"Pepper Shaker" issue. It seems funny to me because, it was the same Brother's favorite Model kit. How weird is that? Another weird thing about this kit is... the upper Grille part that's supposed open with the Hood... doesn't. I can still build... albeit slowly and carefully. If I couldn't... my Doctor wouldn't be happy with my Demeanor, his new nickname and choice of Colorful Metaphors hurled at him. I can live without driving but not cars.

Sorry, if this is out of line. Here's a crazy idea. A 3D printer. I'm looking into getting one. I've started a 1/25 scale '69 Austin America/1100/1300 years ago. Finding a set of the Teardrop Taillights, Head Light Bezels, Front Signal Lights... not to mention a long list of other pieces is impossible. No one has ever Kitted one. The Head lights could be Sourced from a Original Tamiya Mini Cooper Kit. I don't know how to attach pictures here from My Pictures. I had an easier time scratch building a Van I designed after a Note Pad someone gave me. I used a Revell Surfite Chassis and engine. The only problem I had and knew it was going to be a problem was the roof warping. Yeah, it warped. To make the Wheels look different I stripped the chrome, painted them silver and put them on backwards. When I find it, I'll post pictures.

Twisted but cool. Great work. -
I've always wondered why Military Vehicles have to be issued in smaller scales than 1/24. Where's fun in that? With these kits in a compatible scale to normal model cars and trucks, the possibilities for Post Apocalyptic Dioramas and the "G" scale train layouts are mind boggling. Wow. I've seen the Italeri Armed Pick-Up Toyota Land Cruiser #6352 and the Italeri Land Rover LWB 109 FFR #6353. Very nice. I've even built the 1/24 and 1/28 scale Planes. I'm really looking forward to adding these to my 1/28 Fokker DR1 and my Spad XIII models. I wonder how an Opel Admiral Cabriolet or one of the other Opal offerings would look finished similar to the Red Baron's Fokker DR1 as his Personal Vehicle? It's a thought. It could be a real cool club project. Pick a version/paint scheme of the Revell Fokker DR1 and build any of these cars in that plane's or pilot's paint style. Just no fixed weapons. The inside of the car could have Handguns, Rifles, Machine Guns, Grenades and etc.. Some more crafty builders could put these weapons in hidden compartments.

Hey guys, Thanks for the help so far. I really do appreciate it. These Computers are a lot of help when looking for just about anything related our hobby. There is (However) a very steep learning curve to these things and a lot of the web-sites. Bookmarking is great, it really is. The problem is, the Rocket Scientists that update those Search things like Google, Bing, Internet Explorer and etc. mess things up so badly, Bookmarks, Sign In info, and other things that I was trying to save are lost. I've lost ALL of my Bookmarks on several occasions. This is also Known As Fixing Something That AIN'T Broke or Fixing something until it is broke. Now, just try and get help from them. It's like dealing with the DMV or your local Public Works Dept.. You'd get more help from a rock. IF on the off chance you do get a reply, they don't speak English. The words they use look and sound like it but, it's more like gibberish. I just spent two weeks getting my Security Camera System working. The instruction Book was translated from an unknown language. Talking to their Tech Help was just as bad because, they just read from their copy of the Instruction Manual. Then (I don't know how) they thought I said it was broken and sent me a shipping label. I found a Web-site that made a Resin AMC I6 (232 / 258 c.i. engine as well as other Resin goodies some time ago. I was ecstatic. I was looking for an AMC I6 for an International Scout Half Cab model I was going to build. What I should have done was add their email address to my "Contacts". Hind sight, right? Now I can't find them to save my life. I think I'm going to have to get one of those 3D Printers so I can make my own parts. I'll never have to use Resin parts or mess around with Epoxy Glues again. Sorry, I'm still trying to find the right Forum. It's a real pain. I haven't figured out how I keep getting to this one.

Sorry for the inconvenience. The Modelcitizen is right. By the time I wrote my plea for help, I only just found a "Start a New?????" thing button or whatever it is. Please pardon the spelling errors. I don't even know how I got to this "Real or Model" thing. I have a hard time getting in this Model Cars Magazine site every time I try. It usually takes about an hour to find the right thing to click on. I can't get a simple straight answer from anyone from Testors, Alclad, the Badger Air Brush people, ANOTHER Model Magazine and the list goes on. Why didn't Alclad mention the fact that the put their Crome in a spray can? Now that's real "Customer Service". Let's give everyone that contacts us (Alclad) a vague answer to their questions AND not tell them the product they're looking for now comes in an easy to use Spray Can. That way we can go out of business faster. The last Air Brush I bought is The Last Air Brush I'll Ever Buy. I read the instructions, I followed the Instructions, I read the instructions again. Then I read them again and followed the instruction. It actually shot a very small fine burst of paint, for 2 or 3 seconds, and stopped. Then all it shot was air. I didn't want to ruin it so, I decided to clean it and hooked up a bottle of Air Brush Cleaner. I got another 2 or 3 second burst of cleaner, then just air. I read the instructions again. To Be safe, I used Air Brush cleaner insted of paint. I got another 2 or 3 seconds of cleaner and then more air. I didn't have a computer then so, there was no help anywhere. I did what I thought was best, I taught it to fly. I didn't teach it to land. I'm just looking for some help from someone that can see out of both eyes. Do you know what it's like to have to wear those big magnifiers just to read anything on this screen, to be partially blind in the dominant eye. So until I can figure out how I got to this page and how to ask for help in the right one, this will have to do. I ain't one of those teenagers that grew up with a computer mouse in my hand and I didn't ask for those "so called" Doctors to cut me open like some kind of dead fish and mess around with my innards. Because if they had asked me, I would have told them N O. I'm still missing the 8 days I spent in the hospital, I had no vision problems before and now I'll never drive my '66 Caddy again. See my profile picture. I hope the kid I mentored enjoys it.

I'm trying to build a replica of a 57 Chevy 210 4 door my brother drove waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the 70's. I bought a resin 57 Chevy 210 4 door but, I ran into a bit of a snag. It seems that heart attack number 12 cost me more than just 4 bypasses. I lost partial vision in my left eye in the form of a dark line that crosses my eye at about a 40 degree angle, fuzzy vision in the right and I can't seem to keep my hands from shaking. The latter may be because of the medications I have to take. When I bought the Resin 57, I also bought 2 AMT 57s. 1 fairly new reissue of the old "Pepper Shaker" and the new issue with the opening trunk. I bought the newer issue because I couldn't remember which one of the two I needed to finish the resin one off. As it turnes out, I needed the early AMT issue. The problem with the resin model is the door and trunk lines need to be scribed better and I'm in no hurry to lop a finger off. I'm hoping there's someone in my area that can scribe these for me. I'd be more than happy to give up the other 57 Chevy model to get this done. It's still in the box and and unbuilt. Next question, Can the Alclad Chrome process be used with a Testors 9215 ACRYL MODEL CAR SPRAY PAINT SET? I can't get a straight answer from Testors or Alclad and I've tried to use an Airbrush and failed on several occasions. Thanks.

Great build, nice job on the paint. Wasn't the Fall Guy's truck a Long Bed?

"A sedan delivery, commonly called a delivery is car derived van". A Panel Delivery is based on the Pickup. It's also larger and more Heavy Duty than the Sedan Delivery. I'm building the same model but, I Scrapped the Box Stock ugly Fender/Running Boards assembly in favor of a Stock assembly. (I really don't like Fender Skirts). I'm painting mine a Two Tone Candy Apple Red. It has a Small Block Chevy and an Auto trans. I'm also using the Wheels and Tires from a Diecast 1955 Oldsmobile. If there's two things to hate about this Kit, one is the mismatched Chrome Trim that runs along the Body line and Hood and the other is the Hood itself. It doesn't fit right in too many ways and I doubt I'll ever get an answer from AMT as to why or if they'll fix the problem. My hood fit so poorly that I had to look through my spares, just to find one that fits CENTERED with the body. I still had to ADD thin strips of Styrene to the Rear portion of the Hood to close the MASSIVE GAP between it and the Body. I fully intend to present it to my Cardiologist. The funny part is, I'm making Decals for it to represent a Traveling "Snake Oil Peddler" and using the Doc's REAL name. Go ahead, tell me it ain't funny. Now, to all the people that'll complain about "A Ford Should Be Powered By A Ford". I say PPTHHPTHPFFTHPPPT!!! I remember my Stepfather's 1956 Ford F100 POWERED by a Max Wedge. I've seen Chevies Powered by Chrysler, a Ford Street Rod powered by a Turbocharged Chrysler Slant Six and about a Million Fords powered by Chevy. Even the Green Hornet's Movie Chrysler was powered by Chevrolet ZZ454 V8 engine and Turbo 400 transmission. It's the Freedom to Choose what you want LURKING under your favorite Hood that makes your Car, Truck, Van and etc. uniquely yours. How many Contest Models actually have ROLLING WHEELS? When this trend start? I didn't get that memo. All my Models have Rolling Wheels. That's just the way I build them. So, have fun and build your Cars, Trucks or whatever, the way you want.

Pledge with Future Shine
badcaditude replied to badcaditude's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
This site http://www.swannysmo...leteFuture.html didn't answer anything I was asking. Can it be used over Bare Metal Foil and can I spray it through a Testors Sprayer found in the 9215 set? -
Pledge with Future Shine
badcaditude replied to badcaditude's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks for clearing some of that up. I'll probably never understand "Parts". That's fine. It's like Math with letters. I just don't get it and I too old to try. It's most likely one the reasons my Brand New Airbrush went out the window. Whoops. My Mother had an Airbrush way back in the 70's, she couldn't get her's to work either. So maybe it's Genetic too. I'm wondering if the Pledge with Future can be sprayed using a Testors' Acrylic Paint Sprayer from the Set #TES9220T? If it will, then the problem is solved. -
Okay, who do I have to kill to get some of these?

I finally decided to give Pledge with Future Shine a try. I'm thinking about using the "Testors 9215 Paint Sprayer" with the Pledge. I bought a new Testors' Air Brush about ten years ago but I couldn't get it to work. Well, it kind of worked. It sprayed paint for two or three seconds and stopped. It did the same thing when I tried to spray Air Brush cleaner through it. I kept trying but in never sprayed anything but air after that. I didn't have a computer then so; there was no one to ask for help. I was slightly more than miffed so, I gave it a flying lesson from three stories up and I didn't bother to open the window. It flew great but landed badly. I never understood the measurement called "Parts". How much is an actual "Part"? Why not just use a Standard unit of measure for liquid? Is there a device (Measuring Cup or Eye Dropper) that measures "Parts"? I checked the Inter-Web and there are a lot of different answers. With most Automotive body fillers, I would skip the "Parts" Measurements and just guesstimate. Ninety-nine percent of the time, it worked out fine. It just took a little more time to dry. Paint for Air Brushes has to be just right. If I'm using a Standard Air Brush Paint Bottle then, why isn't there a Standard Unit of Measure? At this point, I'd settle for measurements in Metric. I've read the article on ModelKits.com by Paul Nortness. He doesn't mention exactly how to thin Pledge for Air Brush use or the afore mentioned Testors' item. Does anyone know how to thin Pledge with Future Shine for spraying through a "Testors 9215 Paint Sprayer"? I won't buy another Air Brush.
