Hello Again Slim The Windshield out of the AMT '53 will fit with just a bit of heat to reshape the lower portion. Top and side to side fit is perfect. Ed Erbeck Jr.

Your favourite Box art
Crazy Ed replied to HotRodaSaurus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I really like this one because it so different that the normal product shot. Harsh contrast that forces you to concentrate on the lines. http://public.fotki.com/CrazyEd/models/917.html Ed Erbeck Jr. -
Slim - WOW There's a Driver whose Vehicle I would have never thought being built in Plastic. Tru was my Neighbor for a few years before my Family moved to Northern Calif in '67. He was Driving a Red '50 or '51 Chevy back then and considering going to Sportsmans Class from Novice. About a Month ago I had looked Tru up on Google. It was good to see he had done so well. You Build looks Very nice. Ed Erbeck Jr.

?Sunoco/Penske Lola T70 Decal Set?
Crazy Ed replied to Crazy Ed's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the Tip! I've got 2 kits and a selection of Weber intakes on order with Tony right now. So I'll drop him a line and see if I catch anything Wife and I used to spend a Week every year wandering around the Wine Country in April when we lived in Campbell. We miss our yearly Anniversery 20yo Bottle of Wine. Which if not from our "Cellar" was easy to obtain in the Bay Area. Ed Erbeck Jr. -

"Holy Grail" Models?
Crazy Ed replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Mine are '60's - mid 70's Prototype Road and Endurance Raceers. Back when there were few Team Drivers and lots of "Hired Guns". Drivers that in one Season would be seen at F-1, TransAm, CanAm, 24 Hour Daytona and LeMans with maybe a couple of other Races just to keep from getting bored (actually the pay wasn't what it is today and the more one raced the more they made!). I am, but S.W.M.B.O. would blow a gasket if I watched it without her , which isn't a bad thing! Crazy Ed -
Supercharged 4-banger?
Crazy Ed replied to curt raitz's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It was. my Second Car was a '63 LeMans with the 4 Banger in it. Got 25 mpg, had decent torque and with it's 24 inch Glass Pack Muffler it sounder like a runaway tractor The only thing one had to pay attention to was NEVER Break when in a turn unless you had installed a Sway Bar because the rear axles would "scissor". I did that once soon after getting the Car and I can assure you it's something best avoided! Crazy Ed -
Building a mag-frame Cox Chaparral 2E from start to finish...
Crazy Ed replied to chris4q's topic in Model Car Racing
Mine are Static Plastic Kits. 1 IMC and a Union ( I haven't raced Slot Cars since before there was a Chaparral 2E ) , which I can only hope mine turn out anywhere near what your's did. You say you wanted to make your's "A Little Different from Stock", well in my book you succeeded in Spades! Crazy Ed -
Building a mag-frame Cox Chaparral 2E from start to finish...
Crazy Ed replied to chris4q's topic in Model Car Racing
Chris I had seen the Legacy Site before, even Exoto has 3 versions with the Spoiler. Went through all the reference material again and found one Picture with the Spoiler, Phil Hill's #65 at Las Vegas. Other than that one other rear or side shots that would show the Spoiler either don't show it or for the full rear shots show 5 holes where the Screws would go. But I sure don't have shots of each Car at each Race Front, Rear, side and from above (Oh Don't I wish!). I've got a pair of 2E Kits, so now I may have too build one with a Spoiler Again GREAT Build. Building a mag-frame Cox Chaparral 2E from start to finish...
Crazy Ed replied to chris4q's topic in Model Car Racing
That is an increadble build of my favorite Prototype Racer. But I'm courious. I wandered through my reference books and didn't find a 2E that had a Spoiler mounted below the Wing. Was it an one race modification? Which Jim Hall was known to do on a regular basis. Ed Erbeck Jr. -
Brian Great subject, and looking good so far. I'll be watching this one. Richard Heller, then rereleased by Testors and I believe Union made a 1/24 Full Detail of the 512S Ed Erbeck Jr.

What Car Do You Wish To Be A Model That Isn't?
Crazy Ed replied to Clay's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Oh, Anything specifically CanAm like Spyder 917's, Ferrari 350,a bunch of McLarens, 908 Spyder - well you get the idea . From there how's about The Entire Chaparral Series, from the original Chaparral - 2K. And returning to Reality given the AMT rebirth a '69 El Camino. Crazy Ed -

Randbugeye Very Clean build and I like the choice of Color. Hum I think I'm going toget me one of these. I got to drive one in '70 from Redwood City to San Gregorio Beach. Had two complaints, 1. it didn't have a "Gurney" bump (I'm 5' 16" tall ) and 2. there were 3 sections of Woodside/La Honda Road that had Radar Police. It was a true shame to have to slow down as the Lotus didn't have much torque so it needed room to really get going again. Crazy Ed

Bill One of my all time favorite Cars from my All time Favorite Racing Series. Nice Job on the Kit. Ed Erbeck Jr.

Hi Milt Why not Early Sunday Morning go in front of D&J's and take a Picture. Print it out large enough to cover the Wall and Park your Cars in front? What better palce to park Model Cars Ed Erbeck Jr. Formerly of Campbell Calif.

Brian Like the Paint job and a clean build you have there. Also liked the Engine and Engine Bay detail. Something you might want to know if you do one of these again. The Battery and Window Washer are reversed in the instructions from where they should be. The Battery goes on the Passenger side, Washer bottle on the Drivers. Ed Erbeck Jr. now in Pearce Arizona but was in Campbell Calif, just North of you.
