Got this not long ago from Hobby Link Japan, and for those of you that are planning to build Chaparral 2, 2D, 2E, 2F, 2H, 2J, or 2K's this is a Wonderful book with LOTS of Color Shots of the Restored Cars at Midland Texas. There's more Detail shots (IN Color No Less) of each of these Cars than and of the other Chaparral Books I have. You'll also get good Cockpit Shots for all but the 2H. Also included is information on Jim Halls post CanAm Racing Efforts right up to the Last Race won by one of Jim Hall's Cars - The 1996 Miami Indy Car race driven by a Rookie names Gil de Ferran. The Text is Japanese / English. IMHO, if you're a fan of the White Cars from Midland Texas and their Creator, this would be a wonderful addition to your Library. Ed

Memory lane, how many remember?
Crazy Ed replied to RatRod's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Wow, What a Subject! I "grew up" (ok some will dispute I ever grew up) in the North end of the San Fernando Valley from the early 50's 'till '67. My favorite Hobby Shop was on Polk Street just East of Glenoaks. Not only did they carry EVERY kind of Hobby related Kit you could imagine - 5 cent Balsawood Gliders to RC Airplane & Boat Kits. But they also had a Wood Multibin Case with Glass front Candy Counter where we learned about Sales Tax. If you had 25 cents and wanted to get a few gliders you get then 2 at a time or if you wanted Candy you asked for 14 cents worth, because when you hit 15 cents there was a penny sales tax and when you were washing cars or mowing lawns for 25 - 50 cents, a penny was a large percentage of your income! Not only had 4 Hobby Shops within Bicycling distance, but also the San Fernando Drag Strip, where Free seats could be had on either Foothill Blvd. or if the Police didn't run you off on the North side of the Wash off of Glenoaks Blvd ("Grandstand Seats" because you were on the Starting Line - Ahh the smell of Burning Rubber). Was it "All Good"?, No it never was and will never be. As an Elementary School kid we watched U-2's fly into Van Nays Airport along with Constellations. The U-2's were a reminder just why we were doing "Drop Drills" and why some of the Neighbors had Bomb Shelters. Polio was still effecting kids in school. I was in Art Class in Jr. High when J.F.K. was shot and one of the Few Times I ever had a "Winning Number" in a Drawing was the Lottery for the Draft (but I showed'em! I "dodged" the Draft and Joined - got my Draft Notice my 4th week of Basic Training). Would I change a Day of My Life - No. I wouldn't be who I am without everyday that got me here. Ed Erbeck Jr. -

Art, Thanks for the reply. I know that the DA300R has Auto cutoff. It is set for ~90 psi. Bill is correct in that I wish to use the "Storage Tank" to extend the cycle time of the Compressor in just the same way as any Compressor/Tank System works. The Tank works like a Battery and the Compressor is the Charging System. Again Thanks for the feedback. Ed Erbeck Jr.

I have a Paasche DA300R Compressor/Regulator and I want to put a "T" between the Compressor and the R75 Regulator that will allow me to run a 4' hose terminated with a DB32 or equivalent fitting from the "T" to an Air Tank that has a Tire Valve fitting. If anyone could supply the Part Numbers I'd sure appreciate it as I have emailed 2 dealers and heard zip back. Ed Erbeck Jr.

There's one on the "Bay" 1971 chevy impala mild and wild MPC AMT Original issue Item number: 170351182395 that'll be expired most likely by the time you check it, but I found the listing by doing a FIND - MPC Mild. Hope this Helps. Ed Erbeck Jr.

Now this could make for a fun Formula 1 debrief on Speed tonight, "There was an interesting race in Turkey 2 weeks ago, BUT DID YOU HEAR THIS??????". At which time David Hobbs sez" When Bernie heard this his head went KA-BLAMO". Now what we need is the folks at Montreal, Laguna Seca and say Road America to invite the FOTA folks over for a chat! Ed Erbeck Jr

Gregg That looks like it's going to be one heck of a Kit. So what are you going to do with the rest of your Weekend when you finish it!? I wonder if they plan on bringing out it's Box art partner...............? Ed Erbeck Jr.
