Ok first off JC's right in that folks are spendin' too much for the Heller, etc 907/8 Kit, but as I mentioned if you're not in a hurry they do showup now and then at a reasonable price.
Problem with going the 917 route is it was made up basically of 2 Boxer 6's that met in the middle to reduce shaft's flexing so you'd not only need to chop it in half but also graft the end two cylinders to your choice of 6 then fab. a Fan because the '07/8's are smaller in diameter and has more blades.
And later in the Song Bob Dylan in Talkin' New York said:
"A lot of people don't have much food on their table. But they got a lot of forks and knives. And they gotta cut something."
Great Early Dylan.
Funny Chris, I liked the same Vehicle out of that list. For me though it'd be fun to drive to the Village to pickup the Mail n go to the Hardware Store - 5 Miles of Dirt Road 'tween here and there.
Heller came out with a series of LeMans/Roadrace Cars with Covers of Brush Painted Art. OK I wouldn't pay a premium for one, but I would buy/trade for the ones I don't have Just Because of the Box Art.
Great Build! Too bad they didn't fly the Sprayer version of that over the "Gathering" at Peoples Park in '69. Sure woulda been better than the Tear Gas!
Blue Cheer was a Group you wanted to enjoy at an outdoor venue like the Panhandle in Golder Gate Park or on a Flatbed Truck at one of the Peace Moratoriums. They were "almost" too load for the Fillmore or Avalon Ballroom.
