  1. Cool idea. Where did you get the decals? Revell kit?
  2. I love this kit - I own probably a dozen variants myself. Always enjoy seeing how many different ways people build this model. I'll be following this build
  3. Both look great, but I can see myself rock'n the Ole #44
  4. Good look'n 'Vette
  5. Cool build. The mud is a nice touch!
  6. What an amazing build! Great job with the detaisl and the "wood" looks perfect. Makes me want to build one of my own, but the rigging looks too intimidating for my taste. I'll just watch your build instead.
  7. That's a good look'n Fox Body.
  8. Thanks for the feedback. The pics don't show it well, but they are curved as you suggested. Is it accurate? Probably not - Just using up old junk in my parts box. SC
  9. Tyrone - your skills and details know no limits!
  10. Not a model kit per se, but a little project that will be part of a I’m Woody building. Mainly posting the pics to show that you don’t need to purchase expensive decals to get realistic wood grain look, although there are some fantastic products available that I would like to try some day. The surf boards themselves are left over parts from the Revell ’31 Ford Sedan kit. To get the wood grain, I did a couple of slow, hard passes of coarse sand paper. Then applied Testor’s “Wood” enamel with a brush, then “dry brushed” gloss brown enamel over that. Next, I brushed on a layer of Tamiya clear yellow. Final coat is Testor’s One Coat Lacquer, then polished. Decals are from my parts box. Quite happy with the results. Plan on laying down another coat or two of clear on top of the decals to finish it off.
  11. That's a good look'n 'Cuda! Keep up the good work.
  12. Now it makes sense. DHS is the company that does our die cast promotional trucks - the only company authorized to do so to my knowledge. Didn't know that you could purchase just the crane from them. Very pricey, but at the same time, it's perfectly accurate to the 1:1 from what I've seen.
  13. The KFS crane seems to be more accurate scale version of our current model range. The Italeri seems to be modelled after something made 20yrs ago or more. It also kind of looks like a mash up of Palfinger / Hiab / Fassi knuckle boom products. Guess it's a smart idea if you're trying to avoid copyrights. Just my $0.02. SC
  14. Does anyone know who built this model? I ask because I work at Palfinger North America headquarters, in Niagara Fall. This crane looks like the die cast models marketing imports from Austria, only those are mounted on European trucks. If this knuckle boom crane was not sourced from our die cast replicas, it would be the most accurate scale representation of our products that I've seen to date. The only issue I see with this model is that the crane would not be mounted in the bed normally. Not to mention the stabilizer jack look too short
  15. Well done!
  16. Looks good! These kind of builds are always fun
  17. Nice work! Looks just like a 1:1 that used to terrorize the streets in my area back in the day.
  18. Funny thing-this has been my dream car since its release. I've been lucky enough to have owned 2 so far. Great little cars! My first build of this kit back in 2001, I painted mine a similar color, using the same spoiler. Your build is better lol. Anyways, thanks for the memories! SC
  19. That's an awesome looking Duster! Paint looks flawless.
  20. NICE! That's as realistic as they get. I can almost hear the big block burble......
  21. While this sort of build is not my thing, I can most certainly appreciate the amount of effort, work and most of all, the skill to build something like this. Good job!
  22. That's going to leave a mark! lol ^^^^^
