  1. Can you elaborate a little more on the product(s) and processes used to achieve this? I know a number of people (non-board members) who'd be elated to be able to do this kind of thing.
  2. That's kinda what I was hoping to find. Thanks!
  3. I truly don't understand this. One of my eBay orders arrived at our post office (small town) Sunday morning and showed to be out for delivery Monday morning. Normal delivery time for this area is +/- 4:30, but...nothing. Later in the evening eBay tracking had some kind of weird message: "delivery attempted". Liars! I can hear the mail truck from my house, the mail box was empty and the package would've easily fit inside it (I've bought from this vendor multiple times). In the meantime, I get a message on my phone that another eBay package has arrived at 11:45 this morning. USPS never delivers anything to this area that early, and if they had the new order, why aren't they able to also deliver my package from yesterday?
  4. I had asked this a number of years ago and was more or less told that what I wanted wasn't being produced anymore, but I thought I'd try again to see if anything had changed. If memory serves, one of the resin vendors used to offer a decal sheet that featured stickers like you'd find in most American engine bays in the '70s. Just curious if anyone knows if this was ever reproduced or if anything similar exists.
  5. OK, elaborate on that. What "statement" is he making when his shipping price virtually guarantees that no one will buy these paints? I'm obviously missing something here.
  6. I came across a Polish seller on eBay who has several similar listings. https://tinyurl.com/w6p29azu The price of the paint is OK, but look at the shipping cost. Bet those sell like hotcakes
  7. That UBC-C cable is what I've been told is correct by employees at various electronics places, and they fit, but only one actually charges. I also have a separate wall adapter which I use with it.
  8. I use a company-supplied Samsung phone for work which has all the apps I need to do my everyday tasks. For the most part, everything works well. When it comes to charging, however, well, that’s a whole ‘nuther matter. In theory, you should be able to swing a dead cat and find a charging cable that works every time. Not me. I’ve got one cable/adapter that works like it should. In a futile attempt to have backups, I’ve bought numerous cables and adapters from various mfrs, but this particular combination is the only one that works. The others don’t even register as charging. If, heaven forbid, I ever left it at home on the desk, I’d be in a world of hurt ‘cuz nothing else works. My workplace has charging spots all over the break room, so that’s not the issue (I’ve used several of them). I just don’t get how this can be. Years ago, I ended up buying an iPhone for my personal use ‘cuz they offer a feature that allows charging through the “skin” of the phone, eliminating any cord/charging issues like I’m currently experiencing. Any serious replies? 🤷‍♂️

  10. I had an issue with Tamiya masking tape years ago when I decided to try their acrylic white to paint a body. After it "dried" a couple days I masked the car off to paint the vinyl top. Long story short, the tape left "tracks" all over the paint. Didn't want to strip it and start over so I bought a polishing kit and went at it. Silver lining: I still don't use them much but Tamiya acrylics look killer when polished. (Then again, most paints probably do) I'll be following this thread cuz I have some projects I want to do that call for two-tone paint jobs.
  11. Whaaaaaat? Are you saying Monogram created silly looking brake boosters? Oh, wait... OTOH, MPC's '68-'82 Corvettes came with a decent master cylinder/brake booster. Weird - even though these kits shared a lot of the same tooling, for some reason they didn't include them in the '75 convertible kit.

  13. This brings back childhood memories. There was a cranberry red '70 Chevelle with black stripes that I used to see every morning while I was out delivering newspapers. This car had the biggest rear tires I'd seen on a car at that point in life. Looks like your build is going well. Can't wait to see more pics as it progresses. Love your guide for lettering placement. Any chance you could work up a tutorial for us on making them? Lastly, Model Car World offers airbrushable Chevy Cranberry Red in lacquer (P/N 7011) and enamel (P/N 7011E).
  14. I love the race cars from this era, and Ferrari certainly made their share of lookers. Glad to see Mark has given us another jewel to admire.
  15. Also nice, thanks for posting! Really wish I could find a way to show you guys the incredibly gorgeous red C3 Corvette that stood out on a page full of red C3 Corvettes.
  16. A couple recent Google searches yielded pics (no other info) of a car that really stood out to me, mostly because of the paint. I'd love to find something as close as possible in hobby paint (enamel or lacquer) if possible.
  17. Not sure what they're usually called, but I've occasionally heard them called wheel backs (see P/N 19 in step 6). Hoping to find a variety of depths. Multi-packs in styrene would work too.
  18. When these first came out, I was all excited to get a non-DoH '69 Charger kit, confident that Revell's efforts would run circles around MPC's kits. Then I opened the box and saw... that roofline. Luckily somebody (probably on here) told me how to get in touch with Revell to address the matter. I was surprised that they didn't ask for proof, just asked how many kits I'd bought with this issue. They followed through by sending me a complete replacement kit. A less honest person could'a had a field day.
  19. Glad it worked out for you. I did send them a pic of the original AMT decal sheet I wanted replicated with rulers placed alongside and under the picture for size reference, but since the picture belonged to another member here, it was all I could do. I have some time off coming up soon, so maybe I'll see if they respond better to phone calls than they do to email.
  20. Seems like one of our members had it at one time, but now I don't see it. Cragar Super Slot
  21. I'm considering buying some of these for an upcoming project, and am especially intrigued by the the sets that offer a number of different wheel widths. Having never worked with resin or 3D-printed items, I'd like your best recommendations for painting them to look just like they originally came from American Racing wheels in the '70s. Initial thought: prime (?), spray with chrome, polished aluminum or stainless steel, then paint the spaces between the spokes, the recessed center, and the center cap.
