  1. Well I finally finished the '64 Mercury Comet. Took a bit more time then I would have liked, but..... Now I'm not the best of photographers, and I'll bet that I took eighty photos of this model in about every lighting condition that I could come up with and still I wasn't able to capture the true color. I used Testors, Metalizer Lacquers, Gunmetal and Aluminum Plate on the exterior. Interesting paint. I probably should have buffed it out a little sooner then I did, but over all the look came close to what I was hoping to achieve. When using these paints, take care when buffing. Just like buffing a real car, when you place too much pressure, or linger to long, it will burn the paint off of the high spots. Anyway. It looks a lot better then when I bought it off of "Ebay". From this, to this, and from this, To this,
  2. This is beautiful Steve! I love the suicide doors, and the interior work is really very nice!
  3. This is pretty awesome Jason! I love the color, and the wheel choice is perfect! What a great look!
  4. Beautiful Vette Jason! '67 is my favorite year for the Corvette, and you did a great job on this on. I love the opened doors. Nice work!
  5. This is awesome John! Truly incredible work! The paint is beyond belief! I wish that Alclad would develop a "rattle-can" for this paint.

    70 Buick GSX

Beautiful paint job Carl! I wish I could get white to look as good as this. Really nice job!
  7. Shane, this turned out looking great! I really like the color combo, especially the engine reflecting the body! Its a great look!
  8. Great looking engine bay! Very nice detail here and on the interior!
  9. Dominik, this is so cool! It looks so right! It looks like it could run out there with anything on todays tracks! Wild and great idea!
  10. Nice straight, stock, build Mark! Welcome to a great group of modelers, and a nice nod to Greg with the Hawaiian license plate!
  11. This is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL car! It looks like it rolled right off of the pages of "Street Rodder"! The paint is.....well.....awesome! Thanks for sharing photos of your work Donn. No matter how they got here!
  12. Beautiful "Vicky"! Absolutely awesome color!
  13. Great motor and chasis detail! Exhaust.....scratch built? If it is, it looks great! Nice job!
  14. Great looking Mustang! Nice clean build! Love the wheels!
  15. Really nice build Tom. I love the color and the wide whites look great on this!
  16. Ira, this is fantastic just as it sits now. I have to agree with John Teresi's comments. You have a real knack for being able to envision what something is going to look like, and then the ability to be able to construct it. It's obvious that both sides of your brain work in conjunction! I'm lucky if I can get both of my sides to quit arguing!
  17. Dr. Ira to surgery! Dr. Ira to surgery please! This is real "Plastic Surgery" folks, as performed by one of the best! Non of this "cosmetic enhancement" stuff either. Just full blown, in your face,..."I've got an imagination, and an X-Acto blade, bigger than yours!". You really knock me out with your creativity! I'm curious as to what "head" you're going to fit into this one!
  18. Mehmet, you've got a knack for building some fine looking cars, and this one is awesome!

    1970 Camaro

Beautiful job Tom. I've always been partial to the '70 split bumper Camaro's and this one looks good. Engine bay is great and the wheels set this car off nicely.
  22. Just a quick update on the interior and chasis. Finished the interior last night and the chasis earlier this week. Since this was an old "promo" I've tryed to maintain as much of the original kit as possible. In my post from the 6th I noted the use of "FIMO" polymer clay for the headrests, and how they can be painted. Well in my previous use of this material I used acrylics and on the headrests, for this build, I used Testors, Model Masters enamel. Sprayed a week ago tomorrow, They're still a bit tacky. Eventually it will dry I guess. So just make a note on this if you use the polymer clay. And yes Casey, I went with the headrests. I was toying with the idea, and since it is an upgrade on your Aunt Stella's car that you inherited. It just looked right. I should have the body done within the next week or so. By the way. I think that I used as much painters tape to tape off the different parts of this interior tub and dash as I used painting our master bedroom. Thanks for lookin!
  23. Jim, I love the taillight treatment and the rear door. That solved the problem of the lousy fit! I built one of these last year using the same color in Testors lacquer. I shaved off all of the trim and added a sunvisor, side mirrors from Modelhaus and scratch built side pipes. It was built as a "curb side" model and given as a gift to my Doctor. I would post a few photos, but I made a billboard type sign for both sides of the vehicle using his name and...well. He probably wouldn't want it out on the net. Anyway, you did a gourgeous job on this. Really nice!
  24. Nice job Mehmet! You nailed this one perfectly. Looks as good as the photo!
  25. Awesome looking build Colin. Love the wheel treatments, and welcome to the gruop!
