  1. I was going to say "why didn't you paint it", but then realized how cool it looks in all metal. Yes please, more info about the kit...
  2. Nice job on the AMT kit. Looks like it would fit right in with the SW universe.
  3. Thanks again guys. I will start planning out a short tutorial on lighting basics and how they apply to cars.
  4. Thanks again guys. The Tamiya kit I hear is actually based on the A-10 prototype and the Revell is the production craft. I did not like how the Revell kit can only be built with an open canopy and decelerons open. Not good for an in-flight display. However, the Revell kit had a better cockpit. I kit bashed the Revell tub into the Tamiya airframe. It wasn't hard but it wasn't easy either. Oh, I scratched the rocket tube launcher under the wing out of aluminum tubing. The Vulcan canon on the nose was also scratched out of aluminum tubing. The kit piece was just little plastic nubs.
  5. This is a 1/144 Globemaster built OOB. Enjoy the pics.
  6. I also do some aircraft as well. Here is a Tamiya A-10. I didn't like the cockpit in this so I grafted the cockpit from the Revell kit in place. The diorama is meant to suggest he is flying above the desert floor above a convoy of military vehicles. Yes, the trucks were all scratched. All five can fit on your fingernail. The mountains are cast plaster rocks from the model railroad department. Enjoy the pics.
  7. Built years ago, this is my Tamiya 360. Built OOB with aluminum exhaust tips. Enjoy the pics, sorry a little fuzzy?
  8. Following on the heels of my '89 Batmobile, here is my '66 from the snap together kit. Built mainly OOB I did add a few touches. One of the biggest improvements was replacing the chrome tubes on the decklid with aluminum tubing. Enjoy the pics.
  9. Thanks again guys. I do have another '89 in my stash that will get lighted and some body mods. It will have a flip open front end. I always thought the front end should flip up if you look at the panel lines on it. When I get around to building it I'll do some in progress shots of it. I'm also doing a fully lighted Knightrider kit (no pun) as well. I will do a build thread on that. I may even throw together a basic "how to light your models" thread if there is enough interest.
  10. Very nice "89. I like the shade on your wheels. I should have gone darker on mine, more like yours. Good job!
  11. Wow, thanks for the compliments guys! To answer a few questions, yes the cocpit is lit with fiber optics and a single white LED hidden in the back. Tamiya clear acrylics give the lights the different colors. An overhead blue LED illuminates the whole cockpit. The fin seams were a pain to fill, but it looks great when finished. The model is lit with several LEDs, yellow for the head lights, white and blue for the enterior and 4 reds for the taillights and red and yellow for the afterburner. The exhaust is a cotton ball pulled out and sprayed with hairspray to keep its shape. I do plan on doing a fully lit Spinner. I'm already gathering LEDs for it. Sneak peak as to what is on the bench right now. Going slow as I have a house full of relatives right now. Not much time for building.
  12. New guy here. Here is my '89 Batmobile I built a few years ago. I'm mainly a scifi modeler but dabble in cars once in a while. I love lighting models and this was no exception. Enjoy the pics. And next to the '66 for comparison.
