  1. O.K. grabbed these tonight off eBay. Should be here in a few weeks as they are coming from Japan. Man, I wish I had a well stocked hobby shop nearby!
  2. Thanks guys. I think I'm going to grab these off eBay for this build. I wish someone did photoetch for the 308 scripts. Closest I can come is PE for the 328. I can't even find decals for the 308 unless I buy one of the Magnum PI kits I bet. I did a Google image search for Gumball Rally cars. Some pretty wicked paintjobs on a lot of those!!!
  3. Here's a shot of the body. No, I will not be using these wheels/tires.
  4. Gotta put the serious stuff aside and have fun once in a while!!
  5. I have one of these in my stash as well. You did a great job on the model, but just as important, your photography skills are not to shabby either! Awesome all around!
  6. No particular car or replica. Thinking red over matte black or all matte black with red racing stripes.
  7. So far I have sanded, puttied, and sanded away the burn marks on the deck lid and deck lid sides (very small). I do have the fender flares and front and rear ends attached. I'll post some pics of that tonight. I'll be grabbing a set of Fujimi wheels and tires to replace the stock kit parts.
  8. Now that the Hasegawa 348 is done, this is moving on to the workbench. I got this off eBay for $16 and change, not bad for this kit. The kit was still sealed, never opened. Here's what I found inside. Vinyl tire resting on this for 30 years! Window also had a nasty melt spot. After sanding, polishing and a few dips in Future...
  9. Finished at last! Beauty pics coming soon.
  10. Thanks! Just dipped the glass. The clear is just Testors gloss coat. I'll be picking up some Tamiya clear as I eventually phase out my Testors stuff. The Testors was all I had on hand as far as gloss. I was a little leery about using it over the Tamiya paint but it came out pretty good. So what is the popular polish people use now? Being a scifi modeler I don't keep polish around too often. The plastic tub I got at HobbyLobby, but you can find them all over, even dollar stores.
  11. Clear coats applied and glass Future dipped. Now to let it sit and harden for a week and then polish!
  12. Thanks Scalper. Nacho Z, I used Tamiya Semi Gloss Black and Model Color tan for the interior.
  13. Thanks guys. The emblems I got off eBay. Just search for "1/24 Ferrari stickers". Here is the car with color thrown on, it's Tamiya TS-19 Metallic Blue. Next is clear coat and polishing.
  14. Got the windows masked and painted. Waiting on stickers to arrive from Japan so I can add the steering wheel emblem. The heat shield over the mufflers was covered in textured foil from a pack of cigarettes. Next step is the body, just waiting for some warmer weather....
  15. Chassis and interior finished! Now waiting on some warmer weather so I can start the body painting.
  16. Engine and most of the interior done. Need to finish the dash and then on to the body.
  17. Re-chromed the wheels using Spaz Stix line of chrome paints. One coat of the black base and one coat of the chrome. Turned out rather nice! It's a little shinier than the stock satin chrome finish. Hard to get a good shots of them though.
  18. Thanks guys. Yes, it's a great kit, typical Hasegawa quality for the time. A little flash here and there but not bad at all. And yes the roof has a separate removable roof panel. Fit has been great so far.
  19. For the body color, I'm going blue!
  20. Started this a week or so ago. Taking a break from some scifi projects. Building this out of the box but adding some engine wiring and a few extra PE parts from the spares. Started of course with the engine and rear suspension. Added spark plug wires and other wires and tubing based on photo studies of the real thing. Spark plug wires in. Had to scratch the duel distributors mounted on the chassis rails. More work done. Heater hoses and other lines run.
  21. I've delt with a few 3D printed parts and have no doubt we will see more availability of these in the future. Especially when technology increases and prices come down. Model related, but not car related, I am having a new bridge rendered for my 3 foot Galactica. The kit supplied resin bridge is just not up to the standards set by the rest of the kit. I'm not doing the render myself, a friend is. I'll send it to Shapeways for printing when the render is done. The model will feature several 3D printed parts when done. Stock part Render in progress and the big picture!
  22. Nope, it was a design concept that was shopped around by Barris and the artist Elden Titus several years ago. Probably before the Nolan films came out.
  23. This concept design I like. Would love to get a resin cast of it!
  24. And, after seeing the canopy behind Ben, I'm going to vote as well. thpppppppp!!! on the new Tumbler. The canopy looks dumb. How the Hell does he get in it? I bet it flips and folds and splits open like a Transformer! Nope, for me give me Anton Furst's Keatonmobile!
  25. Hmm, I didn't really put this thread up to discuss a 40+ year old car. I kinda wanted to see what people thought of the new one. Oh well, I'll jump on board then with a quote from Agent J from Men in Black II- "Old and busted" "The new Hotness"
