  1. Some are saying to airbrush enamel at 15-20 PSI. Others quote Donn Yost as saying that 32 PSI is optimal. Who's right?
  2. Has anyone tried these brands? What is your opinion? http://www.micromark...base-paint.html http://www.micromark...base-paint.html An ounce for $5.25 (Polly) and $4.75 (Flo) is a good price and they brag about being good for models and spraying.
  3. If you shop HL with any regularity, go online and subscribe to their newsletter. You'll get a coupon at least every week for 40% off on any single item per visit. I always print out two and have the wife check out separate from me if I want more than one item.
  4. Right now, I'm on my first build in over 50 years and using Testors and Model Master enamel with a Badger Patriot 105 airbrush. Seems to be going OK but I wonder what everyone else is using and why. Is it enamel, lacquer, aqueous acrylic lacquer, petroleum based acrylic enamel and which brands do you prefer? TIA
  5. Yep, you're right! Just checked and it is FS31136. The instructions call for insignia red. I just searched the Model Master http://www.testors.com/products/135245 Didn't see a gloss number. Does it come in gloss?
  6. Here's my setup. I'm using a 25 gallon shop compressor hooked to a Harbor Freight regulator with moisture trap (small one) and then to a Badger Patriot 105 airbrush. Pressure is set on about 15-20 PSI. I'm painting a BRE Datsun 510 which is a 2 tone paint job (red and white). Paint is mixed at 2 parts paint to one part Testors enamel thinner. I'm shooting Model Master Insignia Red and Model Master white. When I applied the white paint, it came out fine, nice and shiny. When I applied the red paint for the other parts of the body, it came out flat (no gloss). Anyone have any idea why?
