Scale I Build

  1. G'day guys. Fresh off the bench is my Revell '37 Ford panel delivery. I've built it in the street rod style with a Halloween theme. Her name is Sabrina and she has an independent front suspension set up with lowered spindles. Rear is coil spring. Her power comes from a supercharged Tempest 4 cylinder sourced from the Revell Micky Thompson 'Attempt 1 record car' kit. Her colour is Tamiya ts72 clear blue over ts65 pearl clear over ts14 gloss black. Graphics are skulls with some dry brushing for effect using gloss black over ts30 silver leaf then the pearl clear and clear blue. I added Aussie number plates of my home state of New South Wales. This build can be viewed in WIP. Thanks for watching and all feedback is welcomed. Cheers, David. ? ?
  2. I have already apologized to Can-Con, Steve, for starting a build thread of the same kit he is building. Mine will be a quick build without much in the way of detailing. It is being built for a Halloween themed FB group. I started it around the end of Sept. and need to have it finished by Oct. 31st. It is not intended to be anything more than a shelf model. It is not intended to be a contest quality build. I have cut a lot of corners on this one...lol. It is refreshing to build a model and not sweat the little details. Here is what I am starting with. Here are the kit contents. I started with cleaning up the body. I removed most of the molded on features. This includes FORD and Econoline emblems, door locks, etc. The drip rail on my copy was horrible. It was uneven and dented. There was no way to paint and polish this area. It had to go. First step in removing the drip rail. Wanting to keep damage to a minimum in case I slipped with the chisel, I taped off the body. Progress! Check out the mold lines down the corner and the flash in the windows! I use a chisel made by Trumpeter. These things are amazing. It is easy to remove too much plastic and to gouge the surrounding area. You really have to be careful. I decided early that I was not going to detail the engine so I also decided to glue the hood on. At this point the body is pretty much ready to go. I rescribed the panel lines and I scribed around the windshield. This gives a nice little trough for the scalpel blade to follow when applying BMF.
  3. Here is my 2021 Halloween themed group build. I have always wanted to build this kit. It is a simple, low detailed, shelf model. I do realize that the driver's sided tires have the tread facing the wrong direction. I will have to fix that. If you would like to see the WIP here is a link: On to the pics.
  4. Those of you that may have a few years on you might remember The Munsters. Grandpa had to build a race car and win a drag race to get back the Munster Koach that Herman lost. I remember watching it as a kid. I built the DRAG-U-LA for FB group Halloween theme build. It was a fun model to build. I added a few aftermarket pieces to enhance its appearance. I hope it puts a smile on your face!
  5. All the images for this build are here until I get this properly sorted: http://imgur.com/a/20wIo I've started this project with intent to finish by Halloween this month. I already had the M113 built up and painted. It was an older build and was tired of looking at it so I wanted to do something else with it. The Vanpire kit I had in the stash but I knew I wouldn't ever build it. I cut 1 wheel section of the lower hull of the M113 to make it shorter. An easy task on the bandsaw. While helping me figure out the best configuration and fit, Mr. Mohinga got tired and decided to take a nap. All the images for this build are here until I get this properly sorted: http://imgur.com/a/20wIo thanks for looking
