Scale I Build

Found 12 results

  1. Just got back into model cars, and decided I’d start with my most favorite subject matter…Monster Trucks. Especially Bigfoot. Here’s some photos I’ve taken over the course of the build. Started 3 weeks ago.
  2. The body is painted with Inca Gold Lacquer as the base, Transparent Red Enamel, and details were highlighted with Model Master Turn Signal Yellow, and Acrylic Neon Green. One Coat Clear topped things off (can you guess my mistake). Mixing enamel and lacquer was an oversight on my part and not intentional. End result was the obvious wrinkling of the clear coat. Being 20 years old, the decals did not fare well either. Excessive amounts of Micro Sol did not resolve the issue. After 5 years, you can call this a restoration or a rescue project. Somehow, I managed to wet sand the wrinkles and give the body a decent shine. Time to pick up where I left off. Sorry, no "before" pics.
  3. I finally finished my Linburg Rammunition Monster Truck diorama. The kit was pretty easy and went together easily. This was my first model with a roll cage and fitting it together concerned me a bit, but it just slide together and required no cursing at all. What made it best was the $9.99 price tag from Olies. The crushed cars are my first also and it was also my first time spattering mud/sand. Thanks for looking
  4. Just completed in time as Christmas gift for my son Its the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle from AMT, the only details added are sparkplug wires and decals. I used Vallejo Air and Tamiya paint and Zero 2K clear coat for the body For the ones intrested, you can find the build here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=81823 I will build a diorama later for the monster trucks.
  5. As a huge monster truck fan this box took my attention every now and then.... I made a small start with it, just to get myself going again The Box The contents
  6. I'd like some suggestions on this build. My Dad built this truck years ago and over the years of moving it from shelf to shelf, house to house it's endured some wear and tear as you can tell. I want to fix it. My concern is taking it apart. What would you guys do? How far would you go with a rebuild? It does have some sentimental value to it being that my Dad has passed so I'd like to do a good job on it and keep it around for years to come. Thanks for your time. I follow On The Workbench and look forward to hearing from you builders.
  7. I don’t think there are a lot of people interested in monster trucks on this forum but I will share this one anyway Personally I’m a big fan of these mighty machines and that’s why I build this one and added some details. The box is from Lindberg and based on the Rammunition truck, I don’t think the scale is exactly what it should be (too big) but still lot of fun to build. Added custom details: Drilled the distributor and added sparkplug wires Custom made fuel rails with injectors and lines on the blower Resin hose joints on the front and rear axles and added hydraulic lines for power steering Resin hose joints to the hydraulic pomp on the blower with all the lines to the axles Hydraulic lines from the driver stick and steering pump Breather hoses from the valve covers. Resin hose joints with fuel lines from the tank to the engine and gauges Photo etched 6 point seatbelt Stockcar fuel inlet on the tank and BMF belts. A few extra decals on the chassis and interior Paint used: Vallejo Air for about everything Tamiya red for the rims (Brush) Zero 2K clear for body You can find the build of this one here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=79757&st=0&p=1017112
  8. Some time ago I made a start with this box. This is the second monster truck and the idea is to add some details I made a fuel rails with pipes on the blower. Original version: Here with my creation I added some "hydraulic lines" to the front axle, the rear will look the same. The body is painted black and clear is on. The engine now looks like this.
  9. Just subscribed to this forum and decided to share my first build since about 18 years. Apologies for the Hemi Cuda I got it from a friend and thought it was fun to use it for the pictures.
  10. I was looking around and hadn't seen something like this really so I wanted to create it, Im making a beach patrol/beach fire rescue truck, dodge ram power wagon body with the usa1 monster truck as the frame, i still need the snapfast dodge 2500 to finish it off but it is a work in progress. any ideas to add would be appreciated
  11. started as a destroyer 2 kit from amt...... features now are ross gibson boss 429, body mods , frame mods, suspension mods, alot of fabricated parts including front bumper, headers, light bar ect ect. i think ive captured this truck as close as i could to the real truck!
