IceMan Collections
So here's the 2nd one f these I'm building at the same time. I will be getting a lot of ideas and inspiration from this here. Although it won't be an exact copy, I like a lot of what I see.Mold lines have been sanded. An unlikely place to start but first I removed the louvers and the V8 emblems at the tip of the hood. bpletcher55
very good start ! and that is a beauty of a truck to get inspiration from ,
wayne swayze
The real truck is a real beauty for sure! I'm sure you'll do a fine job on yours! I like "smooth", so getting rid of the louvers is a great idea.
IceMan Collections
Thanks guys. Afte the previous post I joined the fenders with the cab to test the doors and hood. It looks like the hood was going to end up with a gap between it and the cab so I took some styrene and will close that gap.
wayne swayze
This is an ancient mould from Monogram, so there's bound to be fitment issues. Looks like you have the problem solved with the back of the hood/cowl. I have one of these on a side pile that I was fitting '53 Corvette headlights. IceMan Collections
Finally found some paint for this one. It had been sitting in primer since March. I did the green farm one and the anniversary hot rod using a 40s cab. All body parts are in gold and drying. I should be able to lay some gloss tomorrow. IceMan Collections
Thanks for following along guys. This one has been moving slow due to other project but tonight I made progress. Here's a quick mock up. Currently working on the chassis. I'm curious to see yours too, Fred. This is not the easiest kit to work with. IceMan Collections
Shoot! I just noticed the ring around the wheels is gold in the pic. Might have to look into changing it. No wonder it looked off to me.

IceMan Collections
Thanks Carl. So many fitting issue with this one. More than the others I've built. Not happy but calling it done before it gets free air travel to a destination across the room. Will post more pics when the weather cooperates.
