Terry Jessee Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 For those who may not frequent that "other" board, here are a pair of movie car models I've finished recently. Hosted on Fotki This is the Deathmobile from "Animal House." It's a resin kit from Jimmy Flintstone and is essentially a shell. The outside, though, appears to be pretty accurate. It's an unusual model and draws a lot of comment. Hosted on Fotki And this is Nemo's Car from "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen." Produced only for the Japanese market by a company called "Wave," this is also a curbside, but includes a detailed interior. All that "pewter" trim was a bear to paint, but it's a fun model. Lots of little fiddly bits to install. Terry
Ken Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Animal House was just on this past weekend. I made my wife watch the last hour or so as she had never seen the movie. LXG has been shown recently with some of the behind the scenes stuff thrown in. They made extensive use of an RC car for some of the scenes. Yours looks the part exactly.
lizardlust Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Neat replicas, Terry!! It DOES take some getting used to seeing one of your replicas with shiny paint and chrome, though!!
Mike Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Both are GREAT pieces of work. The deathmobile is pure comedy! Makes me laugh just thinking about when they drove the car in to the garage and hit the wall! The Nemo is fantastic as well. The scroll work on the front definitely looks difficult, but you've done a fantastic job with making it look right.
Zoom Zoom Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Those are really cool; I've thought about getting the Animal House resin for myself. This is the first time I've seen the Nemo car finished.
