Kennyboy Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Thanks guys......so here is today's update: Had to do ALOT of work to the interior pan and chassis to get the body to sit this low....the kit has the suspension sitting like a lifted truck all the way around. Ended up cutting out the side windows to create more room for the body to come down and sit on the interior, otherwise the interior would sit on the bottom of the window pan and lift up the body again . Also, had to trim the front of the dashboard to allow the frontend to drop. All-in-all, a real pain! I did decide to go with my bright MOMO style seats for the interior because you can't not see them! Besides, I liked the look of them in my Ferrari build so I made another set. I will be making locating pins to ensure the body sits the same side to side in the end....but for now, here are some early mock up shots sitting on the chassis. ( please forgive the plastic dust all over it....I had to grind quite a bit!)
chunkypeanutbutter Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Also, I like to see how you change your profile picture for a build.
Guest Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Nice paint! Are those wheels from he revell super stallion?
Kennyboy Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Also, I like to see how you change your profile picture for a build. Thanks for noticing Miles. It lets people see what I am obsessing over and/or what is on my "front page" at the moment. Nice paint! Are those wheels from he revell super stallion? Thanks Ben! They are actually the rear wheels from two Shelby Series 1 kits inserted into Pegasus 23" aluminum sleeves.
Kennyboy Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 Those wheels look killer on that Evo Thank you Ben. I am currently working on the graphics.......remember I said Time Attack, this is gonna be WILD!
superbike-shaun Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Super tough that should be illegal to look that dope Is this kit from japan?
Kennyboy Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Thanks guys! Here is a sneak peek at the direction this is going....the decals are on the way for the sponsors (K+N, DYNOMAX, etc.) "Stripes" were done with BMF and VERY thin 3m vinyl. Enjoy!
Relic_Models Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Looks sharp. Must have taken ages to do those stripes.
Kennyboy Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Looks sharp. Must have taken ages to do those stripes. Thanks Christopher.....nope maybe about 3 hours. Not bad.
Kennyboy Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 I didn't know you were a bengals fan It is actually red.....camera makes it look orange.
Kennyboy Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Nice work on the graphics. Thank you Bob. More to come.......
Kennyboy Posted May 28, 2015 Author Posted May 28, 2015 Thank you guys! I really appreciate it. It's almost done now.....needs only the mirrors and the exhaust done. Really took on the Time Attack personality once the sponsors went on. Enjoy the pics....the next ones will probably be in "Under Glass".
Tonioseven Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 That is NICE!!! The graphics are my favorite part!!
Bumblebi Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 Nice job on blending the smaller bodykit into 1/24th scale, it turned out really nice!
rsxse240 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 The only things you have going against you as far as competition with this build is that it looks so much like a race body that the bodywork may get overlooked and the black color, which shows off the good bodywork, makes it kind of disappear at the same time.
