Agent G Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 This is a 1/35th scale Tamiya kit. I added Value Gear stowage and painted this one with mostly Floquil enamels. It has sat around for at least 3 years until Steve at Value Gear released the set for this kit. Thanks Steve! Some very brave men rode into the vast desert wastelands to spy on Rommel. They stayed out weeks at a time usually spending more time and energy digging themselves out. I used a generic case and added the desert base from DAS clay. The rock is plaster from a Woodland scenics mold. All that is painted in craft store acrylics. I still need to dust up the wheels and truck. G
Jim B Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Nice looking LRDG Chevrolet. What did the British Army call these? Something about "hundred-weight"?
Agent G Posted May 11, 2015 Author Posted May 11, 2015 Thank You Gentlemen, you too Jonathan........................ Jim the measurement of payload was listed in "hundred weights" US and Canada used the short hundred weight, or 100 lbs, and Great Britain used the "long" or Imperial measurment which was 112lbs per hundred weight. Trucks were referred to by the multiples of hundred weight of payload i.e. this Chevy is a 12 - 15 Hundred weight truck or abbreviated as 12Cwt, or 15Cwt. G
