Raul_Perez Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 (edited) The BMF is about 3/4 done, but I'm finished for the day. The suspension is lowered as far as it can go, the brakes have been converted to discs and the Big-n-Littles are on. Other that the handles and cranks on the door panels, the interior is done. I'm going to try to have this one finished in time for the NNL West next Saturday. I still need to finish the BMF on the left side, install the glass, the headlights, the taillights, the grill, a few details in the engine bay and paint the interior. It doesn't sound like much, but it always amazes me how long it really takes... Later, Edited February 24, 2008 by Raul_Perez
58 Impala Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Excellent Job! I'm looking foward to the finish. Nice stance/wheel combination. Thats a very original idea with the interior, nice work.
FordRodnKustom Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Nice work Raul, The whole package works well together. I especially like what you did with the interior. Looks great!
MrObsessive Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Beautiful interior Raul! Now don't go and mess it up with those oil stains in the parking lot! I have to admit I like the wheels and tires you chose for this '58, even though I'm strictly a "Stock as Stone" guy!
fordsixty Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 oh yeah! that looks so much better than the first picture you posted. the stance, color and wheels are so in harmony. great job. but i have to say, love the interior. custom touches yet it looks stock. that is probably the biggest reason i do not do stock/custom cars, due to the fact that i suck at interior work. GREAT JOB. have fun at the nnl west.
Raul_Perez Posted February 24, 2008 Author Posted February 24, 2008 Thanks, guys!! Yeah, I was hung up on how to do the interior on this one for a long time. The custom front seats from the kit suck and they look nothing like the rear seats. These are two sets of front seats from the AMT ‘94/95 ZR-1 Vette. The rear ones were actually pretty easily installed. Just a little nip-tuck and they were in. Yeah Bill, I'll try not to get any oil stains on the interior. (I guess it's time for me to make a new photo base ) Later,
Clay Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Wow, again I am lost for words. Awesome build.
Tom Kren Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 Now that is sharp love everything about it!
rollinoldskoo Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 now there's a VERY SLICK custom you got there.... not over the top in ANY aspect and JUST RIGHT in EVERY....
Raul_Perez Posted February 25, 2008 Author Posted February 25, 2008 Thanks for all your help on this one, guys!! I truly appreciate your comments, suggestions and support in getting this one DONE!!
Clay Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Thanks for all your help on this one, guys!! I truly appreciate your comments, suggestions and support in getting this one DONE!! Well stop yapping and get it done then.
FactoryStock54 Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Very cool! That interior looks really sharp! Simplifying the chrome trim on the exterior is also a nice touch; the factory stock 58s always struck me as being way over the top (but what wasn't in 58?) The understated look really works!
Raul_Perez Posted February 25, 2008 Author Posted February 25, 2008 Well stop yapping and get it done then. Yeah, sometimes I do spend too much time here "yapping" with you guys... But, that's half the fun of the hobby for me!
dub Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Looking good, my man! The wheels are perfect! Interior work is still something I need more practice on too. Yours just makes it even more obvious to me. Have fun at NNL and I hope you get it done in time!
Raul_Perez Posted February 25, 2008 Author Posted February 25, 2008 Hey Jonathan, you must really like it...you posted twice!!
dub Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 All better now! I'm usually pretty good at catching that. I wonder what causes it.....

Modellpularn Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Ohh yes baby! It's coming along nicely, Raul. The interior looks good. What do you mean; "have to paint the interior", isn't it finished already.....? Looks cool to me. Always neat when someone incorporates the same seats front and rear, makes for a finished appearance. And of course I like the color - it's red....! Sits right too, with those wheels..... Hope you get it finished....
Tonioseven Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 This is a beautiful project!! That interior is a work of art by itself!
RatRod Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 That one is going to be another great build from you Raul!!! It's great to see you use some kool wheels... And.....You are one of the best when it comes to designing, and executing interiors!!!

I meant the body portion of the interior (headliner, trim around the window openings...). The interior tub is done.
