It was created for the last ambulance version of the kit and doesn't match anything Dodge ever produced! It's not as easy as finding an earlier grille / bumper unit, because they modified the body opening to allow for this monstrosity! With both the Chevy and Ford vans of this era being reissued, we need the Dodge back as well. I can imagine Round 2 hasn't done so because they know we'll complain about that grille. The version before this kit was the high end van grille with the dual rectangular headlights, see photo below: My vote is for Round 2 to tool up the last version of the low end grille, that's one similar to above, but with single either round or rectangular headlights. That would create a whole new kit version very easily. They shouldn't go back to the earlier 1970s grilles because MPC did upgrade this model every year during it's run. So things like tail lights, trim and even the roof ribs are different year to year and bound to be incorrect. Edited June 6, 2015 by Tom Geiger
crazyrichard Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 thnx tom .. well one thing is in my favour i never care for original .... but i hav to admitt .. i cleaned this van got rid of all the lines and moldings .. made it custom smooth .. now that its more like a abandoned van i wish i kept those ....

crazyrichard Posted June 9, 2015 Author Posted June 9, 2015 left this one alone for a while .. later on in the diorama it will get stuff put against it a bit more plant life thats taking hold of the van ... but i felt it really needed one different colored door ... maybe it would even be cool to do 2 rear tail > doors in 2 different colors .. i have to think about that i dont want to overdo it

crazyrichard Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 cut out one door and put it in just opened wanted it fully open and stuff inside but the inside is painted black with oil paint , weirdly it wont dry and it got so messy i decided to do it just barely opened , still add's to the whole feel
chunkypeanutbutter Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Oil paint can take weeks to try, sometimes. It all depends on conditions when you paint it and when it's curing.

crazyrichard Posted June 13, 2015 Author Posted June 13, 2015 so i added a spare wheel , lightened the rear windows and redid the moss edge , also added more rust toned color on the front door then replaced the tarp , for a red one , made it ripped and full of holes ... rope around the tarp to hold it in place

crazyrichard Posted July 5, 2015 Author Posted July 5, 2015 whell still finetuning this one .. didnt do anything modelcar related lately and today i saw the van and thought hmmm the tarp is horrible .. needs more pigment and tones .. also the bullet holes got a slight wash and i added a few more tree leafs

crazyrichard Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 thnx marc , well i'm not really building atm and every ounce in a while i see the van and get an idea .. today i scored free high artificial grass , used for soccer fields .. will be awsome for the dio , spray it more tan / brown wit a hint of green .. make a flat spot and put the van in there
