Don B Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 (edited) Hi Everyone, Well I finally finished the 69 Dart GTS 440. It was a great kit to build however I was blessed with a not so good chrome tree in the kit. I was going to build a stock 383 car but things changed and I built it as a 440 Saturday night blvd crusier like you would see on the streets in the early 70's. Couldn't help myself. I do have one more 69 I'm going to do completely stock soon. Maybe B5 Blue and White. I'm waiting for a conversion set to do a 69 Roadrunner 440 6 BBL. If it gets here soon that will be my next project. If not who knows. Well anyway here's some pics of the GTS. Hope you like it. As always your comments, questions and critisism are welcome. MrObsessive Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Beautiful Dart Don! First car I owned was a '69 Dart, but it wasn't a GTS unfortunately. Your engine looks great, and your chassis overspray is dead on accurate for Mopar..............that's how they did 'em with no dealer applied undercoat
mikelo Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Very nice & clean build. Love the color combo. Great job. I also like the chassis. Looks great! Thanks for sharing.
FordRodnKustom Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Outstanding work there Mopar Don! I'm looking forward to see what's next on the your bench!
Raul_Perez Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Very nice work, Don!! The color and all of the engine bay details are excellent!!
Fisher61 Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 That is the most beautiful GTS I've ever seen ! Excellent build quality, and the color you chose makes the whole car "pop" ! I think I'll just sit here and stare at it a little longer !
Don B Posted March 2, 2008 Author Posted March 2, 2008 Thanks guys, The color is 69 Dodge Code T5 Copper Poly. MCW sells it in lacquer. Great stuff to work with. Don
fordsixty Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 cragar s/s's and lakewood ladder bars! man, those were the days. cragar nailed the the look right out of the box, back in '65. OBTW, you built a really fine classic there. perfect color choice.

Don WOW!!!!! Thats about all I can say. What else could be said? WOW! I love mopar, and you just blew my mind with that BEAUTIFUL paint job!!! How long did it take to from start to finish?
slant6 Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 Beautiful car, I love the color. My first (real) car was a 71 Plymouth Valiant Scamp, and I once used this same model (with some modifications) to build a "mini copy" of it. Wish I had taken some pictures, even though it came out horrible, mabey Ill do another, now that Im a little better at it.
Don B Posted June 29, 2008 Author Posted June 29, 2008 that baby looks SWEEEEEET and Mean @ the same time. Which traslates to tremendous. Love it. What paint(brand and color) did u use? Sorry it's taken me so long to answer you but my computers processor went out on me and I just got it back. Thanks for the compliment on the car. The paint is 69 Dodge T5 Copper Poly from Model Car World. Hope this helps you out. Don B
