Junkman Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 (edited) It's already this time of the year. Preliminary entry list is here: http://www.24h-lemans.com/wpphpFichiers/1/1/ressources/Pdf/2015/24-heures-du-mans/entry-list-24-heures-du-mans-2015.pdf Looks like Porsche is back with three LMP1s. Those new Datsuns look like right old rubbish to me: This year's event will also mark the 60th anniversary of the worst accident in motorsport history. Let's hope the death toll will be smaller this time. Edited June 12, 2015 by Junkman
Junkman Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 The Junkman has looked into the depths of his bowl and predicts these events. Porsche to get pole Audi to win the race Toyota to pray that the other 2 fail Nissan to be packed up after 12 hours GT victory for Ferrari LMP2 is anybody's guess
Junkman Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 Qualifying results: http://www.24h-lemans.com/wpphpFichiers/1/1/ressources/Pdf/2015/24-heures-du-mans/classification/24-heures-du-mans-2015-qualifying-practice_01.pdf Verdict: Those new Datsuns are rubbish indeed.
Junkman Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 6 hours of quali, and the pole time was set 10 mins in! Shame to lose 1 of the 'vettes though. Was a big hit. Those acute-angled impacts always look relatively harmless, in reality, you suddenly have no air left in your lungs. The usual guess how I know etc etc applies... Interestingly, those slow girl-wheel-drive Datsunsrubbishes sound really sweet.
Junkman Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 (edited) This is interesting news: The Datsuns failed to make the barrier time and will start 30-32, behind the LMP2 cars. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/119441?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=brand%20awareness Edited June 12, 2015 by Junkman
Harry P. Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 The Junkman has looked into the depths of his bowl... Bowl???
Junkman Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 (edited) They predicted English weather at Le Mans tomorrow. We might all be surprised to see those Datsuns suddenly becoming DA WEPON because traction avant. Then again, it wouldn't be Porsche if they didn't consider every eventuality. Them Germans, etc etc... Edited June 12, 2015 by Junkman
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 That Nismo mess is the friggin-ugliest thing I've ever seen.
935k3 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I like the addition of Nissan to manufacturers that are involved., the car is a bit unique though. I am rooting for Marc Weber and Porsche to win. Due to the idiots that run Foxsports I will be watching it on the net this year. Does any have a comprehensive list of links to watch? The new Ford GT race car looks great.http://www.autoevolution.com/news/ford-gt-le-mans-racecar-confirmed-to-debut-at-the-2016-rolex-24-at-daytona-video-photo-gallery-96614.html
martinfan5 Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 The Junkman has looked into the depths of his bowl and predicts these events. Porsche to get pole Doenst count , qualifying was already done when you posted it
Relic_Models Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) Those new Datsuns look like right old rubbish to me: Blasphemy! The Nissans look awesome. Anyone know what setup they went with? They hadn't decided when they recorded Jay Leno's Garage. Watching warmups right now on RadioLeMans. Shame that Vette is out, though. Edited June 13, 2015 by Relic_Models
ChrisBcritter Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Meanwhile, a few ABnormal people will be running in LeMons this weekend... http://hooniverse.com/2015/06/09/24-hours-of-lemons-b-f-e-gp-preview-at-high-plains-raceway-2/
