Yes, Steak n' Shake, A&W, as well as several others here, used to all have car service, many times with nubile young lasses as waitresses, but now it's only Sonic.

It's good stuff; expensive, but good. I like their chili-mac, fries and strawberry shakes, but the burgers are pretty darn good too.

Our local Dog 'N Suds still uses "car hops" today as I was there on this past Saturday night. However "back-in-the-day" when I lived in Chicago, we'd drive to Skip's Fiesta in Maywood as that was the place to be. Car hops, hot rods, customs, muscle cars, trailered cars, etc. It was "hot rod heaven." I only wished that I had taken photos back then, but I do remember the scene very well and glad that I used to hang out there. What a BLAST!

I think the auto manufactures are trying on their own to do that. Why do we need so much technology on our cars. My dad thought power windows and door locks were too much. I know he'd be shaking his head at all this back up protection systems. I know I am. If you can't back out of your drive way and pay attention to what your doing, you shouldn't be driving. Same with the auto parallel parking systems, if you can't park it, how did you get your license? You shouldn't be on the road, your a hazard.

Sorry to hijack, I'll get off my box.

For now, our two Sonics still have roller waitresses and waiters. For how much longer, who knows.

And it is that season again! Tracker is back from state inspection and the roof is off for the summer.

There were no roller skates at this Sonic... and the food was like Eh! for all the fanfare.
