jeffs396 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) Agreed Bill... We've got this 30 minutes from home: Girls don't serve on roller skates, but it's still pretty neat! Takes you back... http://jerryscurbservice.com/index.html Edited June 26, 2015 by jeffs396
Petetrucker07 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) The Sonics here in town, the girls are on roller skates. Edited June 26, 2015 by Petetrucker07
slusher Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Girls here at Sonic use to use skates Clayton but stopped. They just built a bigger on and the busiest place in town also..
Petetrucker07 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 If I had my Camaro running, I'd frequent the Sonics one of the two here more often. Can't really roll into the Sonic lookin cool in a Kia.
Roadrunner Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Yes, Steak n' Shake, A&W, as well as several others here, used to all have car service, many times with nubile young lasses as waitresses, but now it's only Sonic.
Petetrucker07 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 We just got a Steak n Shake. Haven't gone yet.
Roadrunner Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 We just got a Steak n Shake. Haven't gone yet. It's good stuff; expensive, but good. I like their chili-mac, fries and strawberry shakes, but the burgers are pretty darn good too.
Custom Hearse Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 I miss the old days where you could cruise in and hang out with all your friends...
High octane Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Our local Dog 'N Suds still uses "car hops" today as I was there on this past Saturday night. However "back-in-the-day" when I lived in Chicago, we'd drive to Skip's Fiesta in Maywood as that was the place to be. Car hops, hot rods, customs, muscle cars, trailered cars, etc. It was "hot rod heaven." I only wished that I had taken photos back then, but I do remember the scene very well and glad that I used to hang out there. What a BLAST!
GLMFAA1 Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Things change, in my area the A&W root beer restaurant with the drive up was torn down for an Advanced Auto parts store, Next the parts store will close when they make it against the law to work on your car greg
Petetrucker07 Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Things change, in my area the A&W root beer restaurant with the drive up was torn down for an Advanced Auto parts store, Next the parts store will close when they make it against the law to work on your car greg I think the auto manufactures are trying on their own to do that. Why do we need so much technology on our cars. My dad thought power windows and door locks were too much. I know he'd be shaking his head at all this back up protection systems. I know I am. If you can't back out of your drive way and pay attention to what your doing, you shouldn't be driving. Same with the auto parallel parking systems, if you can't park it, how did you get your license? You shouldn't be on the road, your a hazard. Sorry to hijack, I'll get off my box. For now, our two Sonics still have roller waitresses and waiters. For how much longer, who knows.
Tom Geiger Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 And it is that season again! Tracker is back from state inspection and the roof is off for the summer. There were no roller skates at this Sonic... and the food was like Eh! for all the fanfare.
