Thanks guys. I knew it had to be a light gold to not look too gawdy... Tamiya Titanium Gold looks wonderful. If I have electricity when I get home... I might even work on it lol

you could probably sand it out with like 800 grit, and paint it again, no need to strip it all the way down if your looking to refinish it.

i think it looks cool but I'm partial to weathering lol!

Got the new paint on it. A few small imperfections in it. It was very humid when I painted it, so I have a little dust in it. Also added a few of the decals that came in the kit.

I also wired up the smallblock chevy and with the intake setup I got from a generous member here.

Looks good down in it. Used a M.A.D. distributor in it as well.

And a mock up shot just because. I'm really liking this thing.

Just can't decide on what color to paint the interior and running boards. I'm thinking flat white for the interior with body color inserts since its tuck n roll interior. And flat white running boards... but I can't decide.

The chassis is almost complete. Have to install the steering components after the axles stay put.

Super glue wasn't being so super last night.

Anyone know if the green label zap-a-gap has a shelf life? Seems like it wasnt working very well the past few days.

I also got the body parts clearcoated too but didnt take any pictures.

I like the three contrasts between the gold, white wall tire and chrome rim. I would carry the white and chrome into the interior with a gold steering wheel  and carpet :)

I like the way your red wires pop off that gold, so I'd favor a deep red interior. Just my 2-cents. VERY attractive hot rod model!

As of last night the chassis is complete.

That is the final stance. Back tires stick out just a touch and just barely kiss the fenders. I did everything I could short of narrowing the axle to get them to sit in the fender, but it looks good enough.

Also got the front suspension finished as well. Low detail and paint under here. Didnt want a hot rod that didnt see any road time ya know!

Steering wheel painted body color and detailed w/ Model Masters chrome silver. I have no idea what kind of Ford that steering wheel is out of. I tried googling all years of fords from the 30's to the 60's and couldnt find a match.

So this is the final stance with the firewall glued into the body, and the body and grill just on for test fitting purposes to check firewall to distributor clearance

Now I just have to get my interior bucket done. Tamiya pure white is mega thin and runs like crazy.

Lookin' good Jesse...if you don't have any luck with the Tamiya Pure White try the Tamiya White Primer...it covers nice, dries flat, and can be buffed to a nice satin finish with just a piece of tissue.

Finished this thing tonight. Interior didn't turn out as nice as I'd hoped it would but it was tough to do for me. I had a few issues getting things to stay put while gluing them but I eventually won the battle. Will post the remaining progress pics tomorrow and start an under glass thread.

So last night I was determined to finish this thing. I was upset that the interior didnt turn out how I imaged it would be, but I guess metallic spray paints are a little thinner than solid colors. In turn, the gold tuck in roll is a little on the sloppy side. I painted the pedals black and did a sort of cross hatching on the gas pedal with some chrome silver model master paint. Then hit it all with flat clear.

Went ahead and glued the bumpers on and the spreader bar up front

Body was just on to keep it from being smacked around while moving things on the bench. I also glued the hubcaps on after detailing the lettering.

more shots of the body now permanently in place with the interior and the chrome tie downs on the body behind the seat.

Next pictures will be under glass!

Your model came out looking very nice-it's tempting me to go buy another one and improve on my first effort with this kit.I too had fit and adherence issues with some of the parts and couldn't get the seat inserts to be the color I intended.
