I know this is considered a bad kit, but it was given to me and I want to build it up for the person who did that. Please don't turn this into a thread about how bad the kit is.

I was starting some online research on this car, and found out that Babe Ruth was given a 48 Hardtop Coupe by Ford and thought that would be something the person who gave this to me would like so I am looking to see if there is either a hardtop top or full body available.

If not then I will just build this OOB with some detailing.

Thanks,

Russ

There may have been a hardtop body available for the Monogram '41 Continental, but nothing for the Pyro/Lindberg '48. The kit dates back to the mid-Fifties...multiple piece body, unorthodox parts breakdown and assembly that doesn't lend itself to aftermarket conversions. Proportions are a bit off (short for 1/25 scale) but it's not bad compared to the Pyro/Lindberg Cord though. Just build it, make improvements wherever you can, and take it for what it is...a very early 1/25 scale kit.

I wish I could find one of those 41 Lincoln hardtops. Have not seen one in a couple of years. Maybe I just have not checked at the right time.

Thanks.

I was just hoping to build the Coupe for the friend who gave me this model, along with a couple of others. He would have gotten a kick out of the Babe Ruth car.

But I will just build this one OOB I suppose.

I always wanted to do one of the Monogram Lincolns as the car Sonny Corleone was driving when he stopped at the toll booth in Godfather. Decided it was too far beyond my abilities.

The '41 was an AMM Model Conversion . Thank you Art . I have one Posted in my PB account . I built this in the '90's . Not for sale or trade . The '46/'48 are not totally awful . I did get 4 resin Stock V/12's . The Bodies require patience , time and Putty to fix . For the Pro[per Steering wheel , contact Modelhaus for the Tucker (still in their lineup) steering wheel . Preston Tucker Sourced the Steering Wheels from FoMOCO . Continental Steering Wheels . Relocate the Location of the Colum as the kit misses the mark . Floorboard removal is imperative for both an Engine Swap and relocating the Exhaust to the other side from the research I've done . Some interior work is needed to clean up the clumsiness . Minor Detail between the three MY's . I have all three WIP's waiting :  Verification of some Details , Verification of Details , Two sets of Revelle '40 Ford Stock Wheels , Tires and Wide Wall inserts . Anyone have these for trade ?? The Lindbergh Kit wheels I still have to figure out a use for . This or any other model WILL NOT WEAR THESE as is . I remember a '42 Continental Blackout Convertible a Cousin owned Post War . I am trying to Verify this as a Production and not Custom Built or Collision  Rebuild that he owned . This is the 4 th V/12 I have is intended for . I remember the weird inside hardware . Not Chromes Steel as you see in a Car . Defiantly something else ??  Any questions .. PM me .. Thanx ..
