Speedfreak Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) Has anyone tried, or , does anyone use this punch? I had one and it didn't work out so well for acetate instrument panel gauge faces. It did work well for water slide decals. I'm thinking about getting another one, and , trying it again.http://www.micromark.com/micro-punch-set,8603.html Edited July 18, 2015 by Speedfreak
Foxer Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 (edited) I have one and use it a lot. It works very well for me. I use it mostly on styrene and I haven't used on acetate, though I'd expect it to work the same. What was the problem you had? Edited July 18, 2015 by Foxer
wilderness1989 Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 I HAVE ONE AND IT HAS WORKED WELL ON EVERYTHING I'VE USED IT ON.
detailstymied Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 i like the similar one i have, but have some challenge lining up consecutive holes
Speedfreak Posted July 18, 2015 Author Posted July 18, 2015 Have an article on it coming up.That sounds promising, will check that out.
hpiguy Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 (edited) These work pretty well too, and go down to modeler sizes (granted not as small as the MM kit). I them to punch decals and plastic all the time.http://www.harborfreight.com/9-piece-hollow-punch-set-3838.html I haven't personally used this set, but it's an option too:http://www.harborfreight.com/9-piece-punch-and-die-set-95547.html Edited July 19, 2015 by hpiguy
dartman Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 If you or someone you know is a shooter, sometimes a casing can be used as a punch.Or go to a range and pick up and compare sizes.I use them all the time for small holes.
Speedfreak Posted July 20, 2015 Author Posted July 20, 2015 Thanks, you guys have given some great options. I really like the hollow punch set from HF.
