rustybill1960 Posted July 25, 2015 Posted July 25, 2015 One very sharp Trans Am there Gene You did a mighty fine job with that kit I salute You Sir! Thank You for sharing Later Russ
The70judgeman Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 (edited) '70 1/2-'73...the best looking T/A's. I did an updated Monogram T/A myself to a '73 to resemble the one from the movie "McQ". I like what you've done. Only improvement I would say is the grille. It was one of the exterior updates on a '73 to a larger mesh opening. The interior is a little more difficult to do. Geno Posted August 3, 2015 Author Posted August 3, 2015 Thanks all, I do appreciate the comments and feedback. Thanks Andy, I knew the grille would be an issue but getting one in 1/24 would be impossible without making it myself. This works for me lol.
Geno Posted August 5, 2015 Author Posted August 5, 2015 Jericho, the steering column and wheel came from a scrap GMP GTO diecast. the keys were already in the column. I've done several kitbashes between plastic and diecast, it works out very well. kitbashing is kitbashing in any form.
StyreneDestinations Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I did my Trans Am in the predicable white/blue combo- really love your Brewster green/tan combo and the keys in the ignition. If I build this model again I'm going to address the front ride height, which to me looks too high on virtually every completed kit. Great job Geno!
kilrathy10 Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 That is a cool looking old car.....I was just a kid when these were rolling around.....Great work.....
Young iron Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 (edited) Gorgeous !!! Where did you get the A/C compressor and Honeycomb wheels ? The seats are definitely 1970. To build a 1971-and-after Deluxe interior, you need some seats from a chinese Die-Cast. Maybe when you build the Buccaneer Red one. Here are some pics of the 1974 SD I built years ago... Geno Posted August 15, 2015 Author Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) Thanks guys and you have some cool looking birds there yourselves. Ben, those items did come from a scrap diecast. Edited August 15, 2015 by Geno

I didn't want to highjack your post with a picture of mine. What I did to mine was sand the back side of the grilles to remove them, but saved the Pontiac emblem to reuse. I then used black window screen to simulate the larger openings.
Geno Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 Cool idea Andy, that's what I like about this place, you can always learn and get great advice and ideas from fellow friends and modelers.
