Firefox question

I am using the latest firefox on windows 7. It seems many times pages will not completely load. I have to go back a page, then try to reload the page I want. What is wrong? IE and Chrome do not do this.

Firefox user from day one......

But it did start having issues about 4 months ago.

Per the net.....it is not being supported like it once was. Got Chrome and issues went away.

Chrome looks at what you do more than FF but it was not working for me.

It does it on all sites I visit. I am using it because some article I read on computer protection said firefox was more secure. Do not know if it is true or not, but I know there are no issues with Chrome or IE. FF has had this issue since I started with it.

I used to use FF exclusively, but about a month ago went back to Chrome. FF has been glitchy and having some issues. Chrome has been much smoother lately.

Anyone have any comments on security of one browser vs another?

Someone is gathering your info via all the browsers (mainstream any way) with all about equal. During my IT days I kept up with all of them.....and why I went with FF.....but retired 10 years......a bit out of touch.

Lee, I can't comment on security issues for FF or any other browser, but I'm typing this using FF and I've had no major issues with it since they've upgraded. Have you tried maybe uninstalling FF and doing a reinstall? Sometimes that gets rid of any bugs as what was on previously might not have been properly overwritten.

I will say that I did have one annoying glitch recently with FF that I had to ferret out------seemed as though for some reason that FF wasn't "remembering" my page theme and setup and each time I'd open it as it would always go to the default appearance. I disabled all of my "Add Ons" and it turned out one of them had a bug, so I got rid of it. This cured the problem and it's been running fine since.

You might want to try that on your system to see if that's the bug that ails it.

Something else you might want to try Lee...........Go to Tools>Options>History-----make sure that the box is displayed that says "Remember History". If there's anything else that's showing in that box, that could be the reason it's having trouble remembering this site.

Thanks. I have the same issue on every site I visit, not just MCM. I will try your suggestions.  According to what I read, FF automatically updates to current version, where the others do not? One of the reasons it is supposedly more secure?

I've been using Firefox for years (currently 39.0), and have never had real issues, with the exception of flash player problems, which Adobe seems to have now (finally) corrected.

Only if you specifically set it to.

Been having issues with FF lately too,  I am guessing its up to date, as I have set to auto update, but its been real bugging the last few months, I might be making the move to Chrome, or Microsofts new Edge Browser, hearing good things about it .

I have Chrome already, and use it for some things , like Amazon.

Firefox was my browser of choice for years on my old XP machine, but since I got this rebuilt 7 machine, I've been running Chrome. Always works everywhere with zero issues. It has useful add-ons like ad-block and "please don't track me" too. Fast, reliable, free. What's not to love?

It's also easy to import your favorite website lists from other browsers.

I have found that with the latest revision of this site, Firefox no longer displays it correctly. Safari is the only browser I have (and I have Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, all latest versions) that handles this latest version of this site.

Weird...

Currently , on this site, on the left hand side , in front of each section, I am seeing a broken image icon,  logged in using Chrome, and there is nothing there , weird.

This latest update has caused way more problems than "solutions."

Previously I had never had any issues with this site, but now it's just loaded with glitches. For example, the "Quote" feature is absolutely out of control.

Do you have the same broken image icon on the left side with FireFox ?

I'd not payed any attention to that at all, but mine is behaving the same way as you describe. Not a big deal to me really though.

Agreed, its not a big deal, and I am not trying to make an issue of it, just curious.

For me FF has been doing it since I stared using FF, and does it on every site I look at.  They display correctly, just will not load pages sometimes without going back a page and then forward again to the page I want to see.
