That's kind of like saying you are new to eating and wonder what the best food would be. No answer to that question, just as there is no answer to your question of which model you should start with. It's all a matter of personal preference, and you'll get a bunch of different answers, all of which are equally valid (or invalid). My advice: get a model of a car that you have an interest in. That alone will make building it more fun.

I agree with Harry. And if you are disappointed with your first effort, trust me, you'll gain confidence in each subsequent build. Hang in there and don't forget..HAVE FUN!

Might not be a bad idea to start out with a simpler kit.

One of the "annual" style kits, like the AMT '63 Ford, '64 Mercury, '62 Buick, something along those lines.

There's a lot less engine & chassis parts to deal with & it might be a good way to get your feet wet.

You could go a step further & do one of the "curbside" style kits like the AMT '61 or '64 Ford.

No engine to deal with at all with one of those.

Welcome aboard! There are so many great choices and kits. I say jump right in and pick up something that interests you.. Decent paint, brushes and blades can help with an encouraging outcome. Regardless of what you choose or how it ends, you'll feel pretty good about yourself when you're done. I've been out of the loop for a while but glad to help where I can - just ask any time :)
