FordRodnKustom Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 I picked this up today. Might be old news to some of you but I haven't had one in a while. Classic kit, lots of cool parts. I like it. I picture me doing a box art drag version build with it.
Jon Cole Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Whitewalls, pad printed tire lettering, tinted glass, times are good!
Aaronw Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 (edited) Thanks for posting this, will definitely have to get one. It will look good next to the '36 Ford half built and covered in dust... or maybe I'll get both finished. Edited September 6, 2015 by Aaronw
ChrisBcritter Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Such a nice old kit - built it when I was a kid and it had no major issues I could recall. And I bet you could cut down that custom grille to make a decent LaSalle unit...
Greg Myers Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Thanks Ron. I think some time we take these old kits for granted. Thus, missing all the cool up dates as mild as they may be. Colored glass, huge decal selection. Pad printed tires as Jon pointed out. And just all the neat parts we may have forgotten aboy through the years. Love that clear hood.
unclescott58 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 It maybe old news. But, I always appreciate a good review like this.
Robberbaron Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 More info here, if you're interested: I picked one of these up and was very impressed by the contents. This is one of Round 2's "A-team" efforts.
Pete L. Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Fellas, Not a complaint but, I don't see the "Salt Flat Racer" part(s) in the pictures. I recall that the kit in question was a variant of the gasser but didn't include front fenders, instead a "filler piece" of plastic was included for each side to streamline the front of the car. Also included in that issue was one pair of tall narrow two piece tires for the rear of the car. I believe he tires were actually the front tires that were included in the reissues of the Willard Battery Spl. Indy Roadster...
