What kit is this?

It's a Ford Mk IV. MPC did one in 1/25, molded in red (I have one here) but the MPC kit didn't have the opening doors shown in your photo. Of course the black chassis above it isn't part of the Mk IV.

Looks like the IMC version to me.

Agree Chuck, IMC had opening doors and nose/roof/doors of MPC were all one piece. IMC fiddly to build, a bit small, but nice details. MPC looks better, nice build, a few things need mods for correctness, but I like it better. 

It's a Ford GT, can't go wrong either way. 

I don't see a tub/chassis in the pic, so check carefully. Parts not easy to come by.

Sounds like a fun build to me! i might get the lot so far for 11 cents probably will be about $4 when finished bidding, im checking for parts now

Can i use the MPC chassis on the IMC model?

    I just looked at a IMC Ford GT Mark Four, Kit # 117-200 and the Doors ARE Molded in, where as the IMC Ford GT's and GT Mk2's both have opening doors. Sorry I don't have a MPC to look at.

I DO have the MPC kit, box photo posted above, #1-0561, and the doors are molded shut on that one as well.

I thought the IMC MkIV had opening doors too like their others, mine's in storage so you're right, didn't remember that. MPC has weird hinge thingies that stick off engine cover into notches on cockpit/nose piece. Nose isn't separate on MPC. 

Replacement parts espcially for kit that's been cut up and this old won't happen.

Keep looking for complete car I'd suggest. They pop up on EB often. Couple on their now for high prices. Good hunting

I vote MPC with a door cut open. IIRC the IMC kit had a nose that was a bit different than shown.....but unless I go pull both kits can't say 100%.

Tend to agree. Can't see gurney bump on drivers door and nose not as long as the imc appears either. Decent job cutting door and not trashing greenhouse. Pretty flimsy on IMC Mk IIs

it also comes with some old convertible (t-bird?) and 1 complete newer nascar (meh...) another nascar body, and some misc. chrome parts, a chevy 283, and a slant six
