IceMan Collections Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 What wheels does this truck have and where can I get some in 1/24-25 scale?
Jon Haigwood Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 From what I can see they look like stock steel wheels with baby moons and trim rings.
mike 51 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 (edited) The Monogram 3 window kit (the lousy one based on the old 32 roadster) had great wide n wider Ford steelies (like in your pic) with 48 style hubcaps.Should be easy to find and cheap...recent Revell model As (not the new roadster) have big n little steelies with whitewall tires too which maybe easier to find but more $$.or the 53 F100 wheels could be modified to match those in your pic.as for baby moons...I'm drawing a blank for those. rsxse240 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 For Baby moon caps, use thumb tacks. If they aren't the right size, put them in a drill and use files or sand paper to get them to the size you need. Plus, if you get the right kind, they'll be stainless and you can polish the edges back up when you get them to the right size!
Art Anderson Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Check me if I'm wrong, but those steelies sure do look to be "reversed rims".Art

wayne swayze Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 (edited) I think Art is correct....they appear to be reversed rims to my eye. There are other kits with "steelies" and white walls, and for rings there is the AMT '49 Ford, and the '53 Ford pickup has small centre caps as does the Revell '29 rat rod pickup II RC. If you desire baby moons, I believe the AMT '56 Ford came with them. Edited September 15, 2015 by wayne swayze
Spex84 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 The Monogram/Revell-Monogram '32 Ford roadster has deep chrome wheels and '48 Ford style caps (similar to the stock ones in the '53 truck kit). They don't have separate trim rings however.
scummy Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 If you go to the womans belt section at walmart or a similar place you should find a womans belt with moon shaped studs on them .
Greg Myers Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Or try any number of "Craft" stores, Hobby Lobby, Michael's , and find any number of small packets of things that will work.

Such as a bag of mixed sizes of "Googly eyes " used for stuffed toys. Edited September 15, 2015 by sjordan2
IceMan Collections Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 Wow! Thank you so much for the responses everyone. I'm sure I'll be able to get a set together.
Mike Kucaba Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Those wheels look exactly as some offered by an ebay seller, even down to the color of the steel rim center.
Jon Haigwood Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 The AMT 34 Ford Street Rod and the AMT 49 Merc both come with chrome reverse with baby moons. You could always paint the area between the baby moons and the outer rim the color you want.
