Guest Gramps-xrds Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I was on e-bay looking at models and saw an AMT 57 studebaker golden hawk. I didn't know they ever made one. So it proves your never too old to learn.
george 53 Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Gramps I dont know what you saw but AMT NEVER made a 57 stude golden hawk,at least not in 1/25th scale maybe in 1/18 .
Olle F Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Was it this '58? It's just a box, but it seems like it's for a 1:25 kit: http://cgi.ebay.com/1958-58-STUDEBAKER-GOL...1QQcmdZViewItem
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 It pays to read the fine print in the auction My bad. It WAS a 58 and 1/25 scale AMT. I still never knew they made it. I never said it was a complete model though.
MrObsessive Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Hmmm............I should bid on that! 'Cuz I've got a '58 that I scratchbuilt from a '53-----but it's got a damaged hood now. I could use that box for a neat display at shows! The Stude is on my list for a redo in the near future though........
george 53 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Guys read ALL the way down the discription,Its a FANTASY box its also a dirty rottin low down shame tha AMT NEVER poped that kit! these guys probable get off by yankin our chains like that!Dam them all!

Well George I knew in all my yrs I'd never seen one and I used to keep up on AMT stuff. since I only built 1/25 scale It blew my mind. Who ever did it they did a good job.
george 53 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Yeah Gramps,a couple a years ago in one of the model mags a guy was printing up box covers of kits that never were like Hawaii 5-O's Garrets big Merc, Adam 12's 68 police cruiser,an stuff like that . but this is the first time Ive seem em for sale.Still it woulda been nice, Eh?
MrObsessive Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Yeah, as soon as I saw the box I knew it was a phantom. And yes, that could have been a no brainer if AMT saw fit to modify their '53. I'm keepin' an eye on the auction as I'd love to have it.................maybe later if I have time, I'll post pics of the now damaged '58 I have.
