Tamiya color and clear

Can someone tell me definitely when to spray Tamiya gloss clear over a paint job?  I read somewhere that it needs to be done either within half an hour of the paint application or at least a month afterward.  Is this correct?  And does the same apply to Testors glosscoat?  Thanks for setting me straight.

Over the years I've been spraying my color coats one day and my clear coats the next day. I seems to work great for me.

Yeah, give your lacquer color coats at least a full day to dry before clearing them and you should be OK.

I usually give it 24 hours before clear.

But, I will add, I stopped using Testors clear because of major cracking problems.

But, nobody else seems to be having that issue, so I'll just chalk it up to "painter error"

Although, I have not had similar issues with Duplicolor clear.

For Tamiya TS-13 you DO have to follow the few minutes or a month guideline.Otherwise you WILL experience cracking.
