Ace-Garageguy Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) I know this one because of a very short involvement with building prototype parts for a car that followed it. Man, this thing is ugly. Edited October 12, 2015 by Ace-Garageguy
matthijsgrit Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I know this one because of a very short involvement with building prototype parts for a car that followed it. Man, this thing is ugly. But good things came from there after ..... this!!
otherunicorn Posted October 12, 2015 Author Posted October 12, 2015 I actually like it.... Kind of reminds me of 60's can-am racers.
Matt Bacon Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 But good things came from there after ..... this!!...they didn't get any better looking, though, did they?;-Pbestest,M.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 ...they didn't get any better looking, though, did they? The last one from the company looked pretty good...a total redesign that looked more like a real race-car than a dorky kit-kar...except for a few unfortunate lines here and there (most notably, a slightly drooping nose).
otherunicorn Posted October 16, 2015 Author Posted October 16, 2015 Top marks for the following two who found the exact model:Richard Bartropbbsbase Those who had everything else right, but didn't notice it was the targa. Ace-Garageguy Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 (edited) The Consulier line of vehicles became Moslers, and evolved into a much more attractive series of cars...the Mosler MT900, etc....after the company's engineers and designers realized you didn't have to make a dorky looking turd just because carbon-fiber was a little difficult to work with. Pity about the appearance of the earlier cars, because they really performed very well. If I remember correctly, the stylist who did the vehicle in the above photo for Mosler was also the designer of the Corvette C5. Kinda shows, eh? Also unfortunately, the MT900 came in at significantly over the design weight, which I think may once again have been due to the engineers' lack of experience with carbon structures.
