Bob Ellis Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I have been wanting to update a Johan Torino for years. Instead of a fastback, now I have a notchback. I am planning to do a copy of the first car I ever owned. Slicing was easier than I thought. Lower rear valance will adjust the rear width to ensure the Revell roof is where it needs to be.
cobraman Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I will be watching. In 73 I bought a new notchback sport. Should have bought the 72 but the 73 had a good front bumper you could sit on ! : )
Bob Ellis Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 All the voids filled with styrene strips, no putty.
Eric Macleod Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Very cool project. I can't wait to see how it comes out. I have had the resin parts to convert one of these into a Montego GT but have not had the spine to take the project beyond the collection of parts stage. Keep us posted.
Bob Ellis Posted October 15, 2015 Author Posted October 15, 2015 It all fits. I just need to shorten the wheel base a tiny bit
Dave Van Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 COOL project!!!Not sure why the WB is a tiny bit different from Revell to JoHan......but not too hard to fix. The Revell kit opens up a number of conversions. Add the 72 rear bumper and alter the grille to the S&H and you get a 1973 notch. I want to build a Big Lebowski 4 door myself.
