Harry P. Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I'm not a sci-fi fan. Never have been. Never got into Star Trek, never got into Star Wars (heck, I've never even seen SW!)... no interest in it whatsoever... BUT for some reason I loved the X-Files TV series. Absolutely loved it. Yeah, some of the episodes were a little hard to follow (I preferred the "stand alone" episodes), but overall it was "must see TV" for me every Sunday night. And Scully was pretty easy on the eyes, too... Anywho... I just found out that X-Files will be back! On TV! With the original main cast intact! David Duchovney, Gillian Anderson, Mitch Pileggi (Skinner), those three weird nerdy guys... even "cigarette smoking man!" New episodes will begin in January. As of now, it's described as a six episode "limited run," but obviously if the ratings are good, Fox will order more episodes. Don't know about you guys, but I'm happy to have it back... especially with the main cast of characters intact!
Can-Con Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Just as happy to hear that now Harry as I was last spring when it was first announced. Boy, Jillian sure hasn't held up so well over the years though. Did you hear MacGyver's coming back too?
Harry P. Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 I saw the trailer on the Fox website. Yeah, both of them are slightly worse for wear. Oh well, like the Stones sang... "time waits for no one"... just look at Keith Richards!!! Not a MacGyver fan, never saw it. But I did like the "MacGruber" skits on SNL with Will Forte and Kristen Wiig...
Petetrucker07 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I'm not a Sci fi guy, at all. I really thought I'd never meet another person who hasn't seen SW. I only watched maybe a handful of X-Files. Too bad Jillian doesn't look as good as she once did. I think an excellent replacment could be Jennifer Lawrence. Get Bradley Cooper too, he would be good replacment for David Duchovny. I'd watch it for Ms. Lawrence. She's a hottie.

Brett Barrow Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I thought she looked great in The Fall, (a British show available on Netflix, check it out it's great!). She's held up just fine.
Harry P. Posted October 15, 2015 Author Posted October 15, 2015 She looks a little, uh... "tired" in the X-Files trailer. So does Mulder.

According to Forbes, she made $52 million last year, which probably includes testimonials - the highest-paid woman in Hollywood - but less per picture than all her male co-stars. Cooper made over $41 m, Vin Diesel about $47 m and Robert Downey, Jr. made about $80 million. Edited October 15, 2015 by sjordan2

Harry P. Posted October 15, 2015 Author Posted October 15, 2015 Nope! But I never missed an episode of MacGruber!

Danny Lectro Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 She looks a little, uh... "tired" in the X-Files trailer. So does Mulder. That might be deliberate for the show. Within the narrative, they've both been through some hard stuff, especially if the events of the second feature film remain part of the official timeline.I'm glad to see the X-Files coming back, too. I'm a big science fiction fan, but I think the show had an appeal that went way beyond that genre. I also think it was a major inspiration for later sci-fi properties that have found their niche beyond the SF field.
