James2 Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 Pancake anyone? Last time I really got the hood out of shape. But I'm happy with this one. I also used the chrome trim to fill the fenders and door area. I glued them in place and then sanded smooth. I'm reshaping the roof some too, making it less bulky. Gonna keep shaping before applying filler, then sand, sand, sand.
wayne swayze Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Nice save James! This is looking better than ever! I think the wheel/tire combo suits the car well. Hope you use them.
62pyro Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Looking great. Glad you didn't give up on it.
Ferbz Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Oh yeah, that's lookin' good! What kit are those hubcaps from?
James2 Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 Making things low an't easy sometimes... I have no idea, they are from my parts box, they do have metal axle mounts.
ChrisBcritter Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 What kit are those hubcaps from?'62 Impala, minus the spinners.
James2 Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) Here are some pics of the hubcaps I'm using. You may be right about the Chevy but I think a decal may have gone in the center. I might check when I get home this weekend. Edited December 18, 2015 by James2 added comment
James2 Posted December 29, 2015 Author Posted December 29, 2015 So I took this home for the holiday so I could fit some parts and apply a sanding coat of primer. I am liking this version more than the first attempt. I'm using Playdo to cover the chrome headlights while doing body work and I'm thinking about some custom chrome strips from the lights to the rear line of the doors, which will be re-scribed later.
DumpyDan Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Still watching, so glad your back on track
exesivefire Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Yeah, sometimes starting over is easier than trying to fix what you started. Look is like this was one of those times. I really like the lines of this one.
James2 Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 Back on the road for some more away building. Just about got the body sorted out and the front suspension is fitting good.

Ferbz Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Paint design options, fade and panels. I think its cool that you sketch things out! I often do it to help me figure out where I'm going. I've even drawn on a spare body to figure out paintjobs BTW, a Gene Winfield style fade job would look cool on your car....
DeeCee Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 That is some SWEET body mods mate, great work, looks awesome
