Tyler62990 Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Sorry if this doesn't belong here, but has anyone built this kit and ended up with a gap between the body and interior tub? I had the same problem with the 53 Chevy Panel. Is this just the way they are or am I screwing something up? Funny that this kit lacks a separate firewall and coolant hoses
Snake45 Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Is this the old door-opening kit from the early '60s, or the Monogram Badman in a Revell box? I've built the latter and don't remember any gap between body and interior. Maybe it's there, but I didn't notice it.
Tyler62990 Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 I think it's a version of the Badman Chevy. Here's the box
Sledsel Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 Depends on your gap location. The interior may be touching the windows. If they are not glued real well, remove them and sand out your areas of contact. I usually do this anyways Dry fitting is always your friend. I have run into issues like this many times
Greg Myers Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Wouldn't we all like to see this one reissued ? I know I would.

I have run into issues like this many timesyou are so right about the dry fit or test fit before the glue comes out to play. I have built several of the Badman version of this kit and I do remember that the interior and window problem, although a small problem but if not corrected can leave a gap. One of the Greatest things I have learned about model building is Dry Fit, Dry Fit, everything first and you will Way ahead before you even glue the first piece. Thank you. Jeff
Greg Myers Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Yep. Old modelers saying : " Fit twice, glue once"

Joe Handley Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Maybe all the goodies from that kit tooled up to fit the new Tri-5's
Tyler62990 Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 Thanks for the help guys. It was while I was dry fitting everything together that I was having the problem but I think I have it figured out. I guess I didn't notice that while fitting the body to the chassis, the interior tub was shifting the slightest bit and getting hung up causing the gap issue. I'll keep the window problem in mind when I get to that point though. Thanks again!
