Hammerdown Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 (edited) The first plane I ever flew in back in 1961. Skipped out of kindergarten to go with my dad to a job interview in Winnipeg. The panoramic oval windows were so big I could sit on the sill and not hit my head on the top. My dad also got me into the co pilots seat during the flight. I built this, mounted it on a base including scale figures of my dad and I, standing at the base of the exit stairs and sent it as a gift to him as he neared the end of his life. bigdrag1 Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 That's a GREAT build Bob, I`m building a connie in 1/72 scale. May I ask where you got the TCA decals from ??.
Belugawrx Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Looks Great Bob,..A labour of love, well doneCheers
Hammerdown Posted November 25, 2015 Author Posted November 25, 2015 Jim I think it is 1/96th scale. An odd scaled "Hawk" kit and the TCA decals came with it along with Capital Airlines decals. Built out of the box in 1992 with muffler tape used for the bare metal surfaces.
MAGIC MUFFLER Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 It looks very well done. Love your story too!! Ex-Vancouver Island mate myself!
Roadrunner Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Airliners can be a lot of fun. I'll be starting a 1:144 767 on new years' eve, sort of an annual tradition with me, starting a new kit that night.
