Where all the current shows go wrong (IMHO) they make to show about the people.  Me, I would much rather have a show where the cars are the focus.  Find a car, tell the history or the significance of the car then show the restoration/build process in sufficient detail.  A pipe dream - I know.

Agreed 100%.

I like Counting Cars, myself. Danny always has a lot of respect for the cars, and people, and always seems to be super nice.

'Hey Brotha man, I see you driving this 59 cadillac , these are very nice and sought after...... wanna sell it?"   " sure Id take 25,000"  " Ok Brotha man, ill give you 7,000"   guy is a douche canoe, If he approached me on the street i throat punch the guy.  None of these TV shows are remotely about the cars its all drama BS about hacks that cant build cars.... GMG are supposed to be " master mechanics" yet they order crate engines and have other people do their work, everything is outsourced. These guys get a car that is Decent and it has a couple of rust holes and some floor rot " OMG this is SO rough we need to find something nicer....." .... or just fix it,  As a person that builds my own 1:1 stuff and only outsources things I cant do, its painful trying to watch these car shows.

Im currently building a 63 Nova 2dr hardtop,  that is firewall back, just a shell, was no glass, no interior , no wiring, most of these made for tv "car builders" woudlnt even look at the thing, but hey, Ive got all new sheetmetal and all new glass, everything new.

I like Counting Cars a lot, but the fiction about chasing down hot rods on the highway and pulling them over, or knocking on strangers doors (who don't have for sale signs on their rides) gets silly. If it were real, they'd all be wearing bullet proof vests.

Edit - I don't know if I mentioned this before, but the Count's real life dad and my dad were friends back in the 70s, and the Count's background is very churchy, so I doubt if he's a bad fellow.

That is my beef with the reality. Whether it be car related or another subject the main focus is the people. Thats not why I watfh thecthe shows, if its about the cars then showcase the cars. I liked  American Restoration but it became too much about the people and not what they were doing.

What a crime trashing a numbers matching Vette. Don't watch the show, that guy Richard reminds me of the shady used car dealer who slaps some Bondo and paint on a junker and asks top dollar. I prefer watching Bitchin' Rides, those guys do some nice work. They do things the right way,not half way.

Bingo,
