Great attention to details Brian.  Stuff like this really sets a model off, and I like learning about what you're doing.

Question:  Wouldn't the P/S system be a hydraulic closed circuit system?  Then it could be lower, or do I misunderstand truck mechanics again?

Thanks Sam!!

Michael: I was a car mechanic full time for over twenty years, but only a part time truck mechanic, so what I'm about to say may not apply to all trucks and power steering reservoirs on cars are usually mounted to the pump.

The power steering system is not 100% closed. The reservoir is not completely full leaving air room to allow for expansion caused by heat. The caps are usually vented to allow air to escape during expansion. I originally mounted my reservoir without thinking, something that seems to be a habit of mine. Looking back, every reservoir that I've ever seen was mounted higher than the pump. Because the cap is vented the weight of the fluid would probably drain itself to the reservoir if it was lower than the pump and the pump would not be able to pick it back up and even if it did you would probably have constant wines from air in the system. Thanks for the interest!!

Thanks for the comments and encouragement!!

Thanks for the comments and encouragement guys!!!

I had been trying to locate a resin air drier like the one Clint Freeman used to make with no luck. I took a shot at scratch building one. Not totally happy with it, but it didn't turn out too bad.

As for the air dryer , Plaskit from Quebec sells them.

I'm enjoying your pictures and the colour and details are great

Thanks Dan and Kevin!!!

I started making the stack mounts and stacks today. I also decided to do something different with the breathers. This one will have dual breather boxes from the Road Boss kit.

Great work on those pipes!   Man, that motor has some serious big pipes on it, the exhaust stacks are just plain nasty on that old cab.

I like the mounting bracket for the P/S too, makes sense.

Thanks Gator and Rick!!

I was never happy with my first attempt at making a fuel tank. This is my second attempt. This one was made by wrapping tin around water pipe. Not totally happy, but this one is a keeper.

Now thats a fuel tank! What'll that thing hold 300 gallons!? Lol!

It's pretty skinny like the long Road Boss tank. According to the tank calculator that I found on the net it's only about 130 gallons.
