junkyardjeff Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 This is a bunch or spare parts that I am going to put togather,I am really wanting to find a 2wd chassis but if one can not be found I will use the chassis from the Warlock that I converted to 2wd and use the slant six I had for over 40 years. If I can find the 2wd chassis I am going to make it as a bare bones truck.
gatorincebu Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Cool ideas you have for this build! Be Well Gator
426-Hemi Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 I'll be watchin'! (I LOVE old Dodge Trucks so.... Got a few in the works too!)
disabled modeler Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Cool project Jeff.... I have a few of the early 70s Dodge 2wd long bed pickups I need to get restored...loved those things.
maxwell48098 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 You could always get a Lil' Red Express kit which are common and cheap just about anywhere for the standard front suspension. That's what I did when I rebuilt so old 4x4's a couple of years ago. A.J.
426-Hemi Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I have TONS of extra front 2x4 suspension to make a 2 wheel drive truck if you need PM me on it..... I made 4x4 trucks from the frames and had the suspension left over from them!
junkyardjeff Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 (edited) Would love to have one of those longbed 4x4s from the mid 70s again but they go for way too much money,I still have one of the dirt bikes that came with them and parts of another. Now to find a set of steel rims and small hubcaps. Edited January 3, 2016 by junkyardjeff added more words
426-Hemi Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 steel wheels? PM me..... I have a few!!!! NOT sure I have the chrome dog dish caps tho, I'd have to look.....

junkyardjeff Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 2wd chassis is glued togather and need to make mounts for the slant six, found a source for the rims and small hubcaps which will be ordered soon. Anybody know what color the six cylinder motors were painted in the late 70s.
Tom Geiger Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 . Anybody know what color the six cylinder motors were painted in the late 70s. Chrysler blue.
426-Hemi Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 Yep,Tom would be right, Chrysler Engine Blue. ALL slant 6's from I think 1970 till the 1990's was that color. BEFORE 1970 they were red, mostly and then in the 1990's, they were made black.
junkyardjeff Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 Got some Testors Chrysler blue paint.
junkyardjeff Posted February 8, 2016 Author Posted February 8, 2016 Motor has been painted Chrysler blue and motor mounts made but thats been all I have done lately.

Atmobil Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 Yep,Tom would be right, Chrysler Engine Blue. ALL slant 6's from I think 1970 till the 1990's was that color. BEFORE 1970 they were red, mostly and then in the 1990's, they were made black.I have seen some of the 60s sweptlines with yellow sixes in them but I am no expert.
Fabrux Posted February 11, 2016 Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) NICE! ya should post pics of the engine work and what ya got done currently!!!!! Be GREAT to see a 70's Dodge truck, with a slant 6 in it! I built this one around 8 years ago. The slant 6 kinda gets lost in there. Edited February 11, 2016 by kataranga
