VW Dave Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I've been secretly working on this gem since October of last year, and doing my best to keep it on the down-low. It's about 99.9% done, so I'm calling it so while I finish it off for good in the next day or so. JOE DIRT RIDES AGAIN I had a blast building it, and I hope anyone who peeks at my album enjoys it half as much as I do.
Junior73 Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Wow! I went through your album, and that is amazing! Great attention to detail. You nailed it!!!
RodneyBad Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 (edited) Dang it to all heck. I was Planning on doing one like that. Loved the Movie. But I don't think mine would have looked that Great (or bad) Great job. Guess I'll throw some of your pics in my Joe Dirt file. (checked out photos) For such a beater. There is ALOT of work and Detail involved. Awesome Job, Again.. Edited March 28, 2008 by Zukiholic
VW Dave Posted March 28, 2008 Author Posted March 28, 2008 Dang it to all heck. I was Planning on doing one like that. If you still want to build it, I have gobs of extra upholstery material in both colors I'll send you for free...the store has a minimum purchase of 1/4 yard, and I only wound up using about 6 or 7 square inches of each. I've also got spare curb feeler material and photoreduced CrackerJack boxes, as well as lots of good photos of the real car I will gladly share. Thanks for the kind words.
CraigDaModeler Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 "I thought you had a Hemi." "Yeah, I had to have a footprint gas pedal installed. So I stole this pile." Love that movie! Great build! Put a smoke bomb under it and film it!!!!
Bernard Kron Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 One must visit your album to truly appreciate this build! Wonderful! A masterpiece to be proud of. Love your comments on the build shots.
cruz Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I have always said that anybody can do a glossy finish on a model but it takes a lot more skill to do weathering and aging, you my friend are good, yes you are, hey, I said you are!!!! (a la Robert Deniro)
