silo1483 Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Just getting started on a AMT 68 Roadruner, I haven't been very active lately so this is a good build to get me back into the game. Here is a few pictures of what I got started so far. I drilled and carved out the air vent to the hood and sanded the body down getting it ready to be primed so far
Olskoolrodder Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Love that kit, lots of potential (especially with more modern tooled Mopars of the era around for kitbashing),looking forward to seeing yours I built one a few years back with lotsa parts form Revell's Charger RT kits ('68 and '69) for an accurate RR383 car,was a fun build
Deathgoblin Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I've got one of these in my stash. I'm pulling in a 440 for it, though. Curious to see how your builds up.
silo1483 Posted January 14, 2016 Author Posted January 14, 2016 thanks for the insight guys, not sure how far from the box m going to stray just yet...
426-Hemi Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 GREAT kit! I have got one of these in the works, (I'm un-able to air brush right now) SO it sits waiting for red paint! You plan to add a sort-of "Ram Charger" air intake under the hood for the openings?
silo1483 Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 Just have fun with it thanks so far I am

You plan to add a sort-of "Ram Charger" air intake under the hood for the openings?yeah I feel your pain, I haven't been able to get my airbrush working lately either so I am going to paint with the ol rattle can on this one. I like your idea for the engine but im going to use the engine from box since I don't have any kits to pick from
silo1483 Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 just put down some primer, just need to sand it down and smooth things out so I can begin to put down the base coat on

silo1483 Posted January 17, 2016 Author Posted January 17, 2016 a few more updates I made, I cut some wire to make spark plug and made two brackets for them too, then I drilled out some holes in the valve covers for the wires and added some paint to the engine and transmission. thanks for looking.
silo1483 Posted January 19, 2016 Author Posted January 19, 2016 I finally got to spray some paint to the body, I used a base coat of Light Gray Metallic from model masters then sprayed of TS-20 Metallic Green from Tamiya for another layer before putting on the final coat. It has been pretty fun and steady, just waiting on some parts to dechrome so I can finish up on my engine and start working on the suspension. Enjoy
drodg Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 As you know on my post I am building one also. I am looking forward to your build and this is a great kit to get back into it again! It is a pretty good kit at not having to fiddle with much.
