kilrathy10 Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 Well done, JT. Man, that's a lot of orange! Where did you get the 1/25 motorcycles? Thanks, Bud.....And that's where I got 'em....Helmut hit the nail right on the head....It was an old Italeri race rig set up that had the traditional Mercedes Actros tractor and a race trailer.....The one bike came with each of them.......I got a SUPER deal on 5 truck/trailer sets....Got them all for $25 EACH !!!!
kilrathy10 Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) Fantastic looking mobile orange parking lot. That orange 4-wheeler cracks me up ! Yeah, Man....I got the quad bikes from a little store called Five Below....They were like $2 each and they were just the right size.....Took them apart and painted them orange.... Jim B Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Thanks for the information, guys.JT, that's a great score on those motorcycle team kits. I usually see them going for northward of $200.
highway Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Wow man, this is real heavy duty building. Looks great! Why all orange? Thanks, Guys.....Ask anybody.....It's my trade mark.....Seriously, I started painting stuff orange after I found a case of it at the dollar store.....It looked good, and it just took off from there...... Just found some Krylon in a little bit lighter orange there....Bought another 9 cans.... I thought maybe it was the only paint color in Texas! Nice job, and looks like it would be right at home in the Reliable Carriers fleet! As you said in the opening post, it is surprising how strong this trailer actually is. All but the front and back patrol car on the toprack in this old pic of mine from the last reissue back about 10 years ago are diecasts.

Ack! Ack-ack! Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 Very clean work. You are one of the few modellers who are not afraid to show detail shots of their models.

DavidHey, Bud....I forgot to let you know....The Simba project has stalled, but not for too long.....The locker doors and such need a lot of work to allow them to open and close....I had other projects on the bench, and they just kept calling me.....I'll get back on it when I get that spark.....I've been recording a show on the Smithsonian channel "X-ray Mega Airport" that has some great shots of them in operation.....Not necessarily Simbas, but some later examples.....I'll be getting to it pretty soon....
