CSX2196 Anyone?

Yeah, that's the "flip top" Cobra. Bob Peeples was working on a very detailed and correct version before he passed.

Your right Steve, Ken Miles went onto create the Flip Top car using this chassis.  However it appears to me the builder was attempting to recreate 2196 as it appeared at Sebring in '64.

Here is the same chassis after the Flip Top conversion at Nassau later in the year.

Jesse, as far as recreating an original, that is the best Cobra model I've ever seen in any scale. Period.

Jesse, your Cobra is totally amazing! I am beyond impressed!

I had the chance to see in person the Cobra works in progress of Bob Peeble's before they all went to the model cars museum. Very detailed for correctness and a work of pure love for the cars. A tragedy that he didn't get to finish them.

Pretty sure that is photo of the 1:1 car.  I'm sure you could get close to that if you wanted to Jesse.

You are correct; it's the restored car. Shame they let it down with replica aluminum wheels instead of the mag Halibrands.
