When we moved to the new house I lost the storage space I had in the garage of my old house. So my models were all packed up into Florist boxes and stashed away for 6 years. If I bought something, it pretty much went in a box.

Well.... We are making some changes to the house and two large bookcases are headed out. I go them for the garage and got to unpack about 2/3 of my kits. What a blast. Getting old means you also forget everything you have. I found a Galloping Ghost II I thought had traded away and custom decals I had for a bunch of other projects. How fun to look in those boxes and find forgotten treasure.

It was the real life version of the occasional dream I have of stumbling on a hidden model collection.

Very cool feeling!  Even though I can see all of mine all the time, I still occasionally pull some out and look them over. Sounds crazy, but almost feels like I just bought them, and makes me happy.

refinding kits long forgotten is a good thing. Its the not being able to find what you know you DO have is the hard part.

Just about a month ago I was rooting around in some boxes and found a Johan Superbird I forgot I had. I started it nearly 15-20 years ago and put it away for some reason . Its now on the bench and WILL be completed later this year . Its a replica of a friend of mines Petty blue w/ white interior car . sixbarrel auto

now that's cool. I can't say that any of these things have happened to me with my models (yet )  But, it happened once with money I hide and imagine the feeling I had when 400 hundred bucks dropped off of a top shelf that's in a closet and bounced off my head  ( Surprise )  I had hidden it about 6 years earlier and forgot all about it. Boy,do I wish that I had that money today because I am broke. Maybe I'll just have a look in my closet, maybe I missed something  hahaha.    Thanks.     Jeff
