muddragger92 Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Workin on a mud truck an a lifted show truck to pull the mud truck an would like to see some ideas!!!;
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I like this game! I like jacked up trucks. I've had several 1:1's over the years. This one is an old "High Roller" kit that I built close to 20 years ago and the photo is about that old. I took a picture of the photo with my phone and it is a little distorted, making the rear tire look like it is leaning, but it is not. This one was built many years ago as well. I wish that I would have kept this one. This is a recent build.
muddragger92 Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 Really lovin the trucks im seein!!! An driptroit71. How did you get the chevy truck to look all muddy?

DRIPTROIT 71 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Really lovin the trucks im seein!!! An driptroit71. How did you get the chevy truck to look all muddy? You'll get a laugh out of this process. Now remember, I was 20 years younger back then. The truck is painted primer grey like a lot of mud hole trucks were back then. My brother took his Honda four wheeler and spun up some loose dirt that was very fine almost like powder. I taped out the windshield wiper pattern and then sprayed the truck with clear lacquer. While the lacquer was still wet we threw the dirt on it, and then sprayed it with clear lacquer. This took several times. After it dried, I air brushed it with Testors flat brown. When that dried, I dull coated it. The few places where the dirt fell off, left grey primer, which would look like a truck coming from the mud hole with mud falling off. I was pretty happy with the finished product. I'm going to try this again one day in the future.
