AMT 68 ROAD RUNNER / 69 GTX QUESTION.....

.....quick question before I pull the trigger on a couple of kits, boys....does the AMT 69 GTX CONVERTIBLE, white car on box,,,have all the Hemi and all the 440 engine parts, and the correct 69 air grabber hood.....and, does the 69 GTX hardtop, blue car on box of a later issue,,,,also have all Hemi and 440 parts included as well.......fill me in, my esteemed forum members..........  thanks to all,,,,the Ace.......

Not sure but i dont think either one have a 440

 

i know the gtx vert has the correct hood

The first issue GTX convertible (white car on the box) had only the Hemi.  The stock GTX hardtop (red car on the box) came out two or three years later and has the 440 (which first appeared in the stock '70 Coronet).  The kits with the 440 should have most, if not all, of the Hemi engine parts though.  The stock kits in particular have a lot of extra parts like wide rear wheel backs and engine parts, that aren't mentioned or used in those kits.

I'll be grabbing the convertible eventually, but don't have any of the kits asked about, so can't answer the question. As Mark says, the red box '69 has both the 440 and 426, plus gobs of additional parts. The same kit also has an incorrect '68 hood, from either a Roadrunner or GTX.
